New Z4MC owner

hey everybody. i'm a long time M3forum user (previously had a 2006 ZCP M3). there's not a lot of action in the e85-86 section of that forum so i joined zpost. lots of good info on here!

i've been looking for this car for over a year now.
2007 sapphire black metallic/black Z4MC with navi. 7,500 miles.
it may be the lowest mileage one in the country. (most likely not, but i like to think so)

these are pictures that the seller sent me. i took an enormous leap of faith and bought it sight unseen. this car would not have been on the market long at all. i sent in the purchase order and called in the deposit right after it got in from a test drive from some prospective buyers.

it's at a porsche dealer in bellevue, WA. the seller seems to be a really straight up guy and loves BMW's. not worried at all about not having seen it before purchase. hell, i did the same when i bought my ZCP from texas - sight unseen.

i'm flying to seattle on Aug4th to pick it up and drive it back to PA.

any of you WA people know this car? ZHP knob and star specs...was enthusiast owned for sure.

Holy ****! 7,500 miles. And at a Porsche dealer? Damn! I traded my 07 Cayman S at a Porsche dealer for a 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic Black with Nav with 28K miles at the end of March! Nuts!

Meh, no big deal as if I hadn't done traded it I would have regretted it after the Cayman's engine blew up on the track (a lot of those on the Gen Is). The Z4M has been flawless! But still, 7,500 miles, I'm jealous!

Seriously, great find and congratulations! That's going to be quite a trip home! Make the most of it as there's some great country between WA and PA--Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, etc. (Yellowstone, Glacier, Black Hills, just to name a few places...)

Enjoy and again great find. I'd really consider having a clear-bra installed before heading out BTW (if it doesn't have one). That's a lot of miles (and rocks) despite the beauty of the road. Do yourself a favor and get that hooked up before heading out. There are quite a few Seattle guys on the forum here, so hopefully one can help you out with that.

You can see the line of the clear bra clearly. Excellent selling point for me.

thanks for the kind words fellas. yup it's got a clear bra but i'd expect it to be completely sand blasted by the time i reach PA. @Finnegan - my front end will be much like your sig + the side skirts and splash guard areas.

i'm trying to figure out if i should mount a go pro or something to get some cool footage of the trip. maybe just keep it on record in a fixed position and then fast forward the entire journey for a time lapse effect... not sure about it but i'm going to look into that.

i've heard the twisties in Idaho are effing incredible. also already have a stop planned for rushmore. i should have a bunch of cool pics to update the thread with come friday.

cheers

Sounds like a fun trip!

Hey, if the car doesn't have an alarm already (audible chirp on lock unlock would tell if it does or doesn't) you can score one really cheap from Bill over here on this thread. Well worth it, requires ~80 bucks to have the dealer code the car to activate the alarm.

Yeah, that would not have lasted. I live in Oregon and bought mine at BMW of Bellevue last Summer. There were two on the lot and they were gone in less than 24 hours. Infact by the time I got there (3 hour drive, one way) the other one had sold at 8 am when they opened and mine was aleady marked sold.

Welcome to the forums!!

Nice! Congratulations. I recently went through the torture of finding the lowest milage, one-owner car in the color combination I wanted. It surely is becoming more difficult!

Welcome to the forums!!
I test drove one of those cars. Small world. No worries, I was gentle. It was the one with extended leather.

Nice find and congratulations!

I similarly found mine last year with 1644 miles on the odo(now have 7100). Private, one owner sale. I had to go to Utah to get it... but it was WELL worth it. You're looks like it's in perfect shape.

Clear bra is the money too. I love mine. Never had it on any other vehicles. Now I wonder why

Welcome to zpost. congrats on your Z4M. It looks awesome in all black. I was a user at m3forums too and made the switch from a E46 to E86 too. You also got my car beat with lower miles (I have 9500 at the moment) and I thought I had low miles.

Wow !! Amazing mileage. I jumped at the chance to get my 2007MC with 42k miles on it last month because they are pretty rare in my area and I had to have this model. I purchased thru a dealer to get the warranty (they put on new brakes, rotors & tires). I am going to repaint next year. No regrets here.
Congrats on your purchase.

This is weird. I am flying to Reno on Thursday from Virginia to pick up my Z4MC. MY 2006, 22,500 on the clock. Doing a road trip back as well, currently have the owner checking into clear bra install prior to trip.

The clear bar is very tough, I wouldn't worry about putting another layer on top of it. You will be amazed how well it holds up.

Haha I have your twin, but with LITERALLY 10x the miles (just hit 75k)!!

Congrats on the purchase! I'd be interested to hear your opinion of the car vs the zcp after you have driven it a bit.

The clear bra is very durable -- I've had one on my X5 for 12 years and no issues at all -- you won't have to reapply it or worry
