Carbon Leather Care - Recommendations?
I'm sorry if I've missed this and it's already been discussed, but any recommendations for cleaning/care? Seems like there might be a different approach--then again maybe not?
Thanks! |

I wouldn't use much except a damp cloth or some cockpit cleaner. It for sure isn't leather and it's not carbon fiber.

i have used 1z cockpit pro for a deep clean when i picked up the car and use a damp microfiber for wipe downs on weekly/biweekly case depending on the cars usage.
The cockpit pro leaves a nice matte finish to the interior and has a fruity smell that lasts several days then its back to that bmw leather smell. |

I usually spray a mf towel with 303 and wipe down the dash and carbon leather trim.

OK, I've been hanging out with the guys too much today, 'cause I came over here to read for information and keep giggling 'cause you all said "cockpit" "fruity smell" and "mf." I think it might be time to go to sleep....

Remember... the harder you rub the deeper the penetration into the surfaces.

I dunno, if it is, it's pretty thin and cheap. I had the center console piece replaced and it looked pretty cheaply constructed. Single piece was $792 btw. I still wouldn't use anything but a damp cloth on it.

**another giggle & snort for Rick's post**
I was ... uhh... feeling it yesterday *tee hee* and it actually felt like fabric of some kind. Normally I wouldn't argue with the experts here, but as I was a quilter for many a year, I know a thing or two about fabrics... There seemed to be more than just texture going on there - like the 'threads' actually had some wiggle room to them.

+1 for 1z Cockpit Premium. No glossy shine, just clean and matte like it is supposed to be.
