Check engine on a z4m

Hello from canada.... 2 things to discuss

A) i have the check engine pop-up for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. The first time they reset the computer and told me tests all O2 sensors and all was ok. Did run the car for 3 weeks and, light came on another time... Bring back car. To dealers to find that all 4 O2 sensors registered at the same time bad... Dealer is changing all of them today and we will see the results. Told me if problem is not fix, they will have to change the Dme.... Any comments ?

B) i am in canada and my car is a US one. I have 35000 km and, warranty is endingin january... Requested information about the valve adjustments and, all 2 services guys told me they never did that job in any 3.2 since this engine is running on the M3...not serious theses canadian dealers...

Question... Because warranty is ending in january and because car will sleep from october for all winter, do you think a us dealer would accept to make the valve adjustment this summer ?

a) definitely sounds like something expensive, such as the computer, that can destroy all 4 o2 sensors together. i'd get that fixed as soon as possible

b) I don't see why a US dealer would NOT, but I would call a local one first to make sure. If they don't know, ask for the master mechanic

It depends on the Canadian dealer, as Calgary BMW did the valve adjustment correctly at the Inspection I on my car last year (drop the car off the day before so engine can cool overnight, pick it up the day the adjustment was done). Had a tech who does S54 valve shimming on a weekly basis do the job. Surprising how quiet the valvetrain was after proper shimming.

As your car is a US one, you won't get free maintenance on this in Canada if the dealer follows the rules, only the warranty applies across the border.

Inspection 1 is not based on mileage it's on usage (fuel consumption).
You need to have Inspection come up on your service display.

That said, @35K km you are in the normal mileage range when it normally triggers.
Mine triggered at just over 30K but mine gets more that DD street duty.

when you turn the key to position one (before starting it) look at the display.
It will tell you the next service.
