Thinking of adding an X3 to the stable...

Thinking of replacing the small toy hauler...

I have been wondering why I have a Toyota Tundra Pickup truck. I really never haul anything with it, I put things in the back and leave them there, when I should either put them away or throw them away. The only thing is that I do have a small trailer for my 4-wheeler and mower. I am seeing a few trailer hitches, but there is much on the X3 site about them.

Any other Z4 owners have a X3 as primary vehicle?

if you want a mid size luxury SUV that's mainly gonna be used on the road i don't think you could do much better than the X3.

And you could do a loooot worse. Yes we have the X3, a 2010 and love it. Great mileage, scoots thru corners on rails and its a great over the road auto. It hauls what is needed when needed, and my wife will only part with it, if we get the new X3, which is a bit snappier--albeit, she does not drive this one to its fullest, and thats fine with me. Highly recco it....

The automatic transmissions on the 2006-2010 models are known to be rubbish. The delays in the downshifts at certain speeds are borderline dangerous. This is why we found a 6-speed manual in a 2007 CPO last year. The five speed automatics in the 2005 and earlier are fine. If you are thinking of a 06-10 automatic, make sure you take a very thorough test drive that includes quick accelerations from 10-20mph as this is where I felt the downshifts were very slow. Good luck.
