Side amber deletes?
Hi. Working on mods this weekend and have been looking thru the forums and have seen a few mentions of the amber deletes of the side front reflectors in the car but have yet to have been able to find them anywhere. This is one of the 1st mods I've done with previous cars that had non-Euro amber lights (cornering or side) so I'd like to also accomplish that too.
Anyone have any ideas or links? Is this a difficult job or just a matter of bumper clearance and removing the wheel liner? Thanks Md

I thought 2006+ had clear side markers. My 2007 has them.
Anyways... You can buy them here: http://leatherz.com/Merchant5/mercha...=Z4_Appearance The installation is cake. Just twist CCW and the entire plastic assembly pops out. Change lightbulb and replace. About 10 seconds each. Take pictures for us! |

Hey, first post, but hopefully it's of use to you... I recently ordered some vinyl decals to cover up my reflectors which were very easy to apply and work great.
http://www.dansdecals.com/BMW-Reflec...s-P274C73.aspx Very cheap and a good holdout until I can find some actual replacement blanks for them. |

^dan's decals are a cheap and viable alternative to paint-matching or even filling ur bumper's reflector holes, but from my experience aren't particularly a good color match, especially since most of the z4m's were optioned with metallic paint. not the easiest to apply perfectly either since there's raised lettering on the reflectors themselves that causes tiny 'folds' to result in the decals.

^^^ That's about right. Mine look great, however the edges tend to peel away / chip a bit after a while. But for $10, who cares. The other drawback is at night the light shines through in a weird way (unless you unplug it of course, which I haven't done (lazy))

Why not just remove your stock reflectors and bring them to your favorite body shop to have them professionally painted? Or better yet, buy replacement reflectors and have either those or your stock ones painted so then you'll have a set of reflectors ready to go when you want to go back to stock. This is what us E46 guys do.
