BW vs Turner Shim Kits + Questions
I realize metal is metal, but has anyone had better experience with either or?
I'm just concerned with the tolerances the metal washers would provide versus the actual thickness for the BW shim kits. I'm looking to go around -2.0" in the front after it's said and done. I understand I'm going to have to get a front wheel alignment in order to correct the toe, yes? How much would the toe be affected if I didn't get an alignment? Many Thanks, |

I installed the turner kit and used all of them and gained 1.2 degrees camber. Increasing camber increases toe slightly. I have not measured it to what degree, since it depends on the cars geometry. Its only a front wheel alignment. It should be cheap. If you don't want to pay to measure toe, buy your own kit at home depot and measure it yourself. Most of the racers still use a string and pole.

If you go the hardware store washer route. Better buy a box and patiently measure thickness of each. Match all washers to the same thickness.
Also as many These washers are punched out they have slight curvature. Flatten them out in a vice. If all that sounds like to much work buy the pre-made kit. |

^if you are going off the shelf hardware get them case hardened.
Yes, you want them as close to the same size as possible but its not a huge deal because you can still fine tune at the tower slots.

Use a hex key IIRC (removed so long ago not sure). Or use a vice grip since they can just go in the trash once they're out. They're only there so the robot doing the alignment at the factory has a reference point.
