Another nail!

UGH just got my tires put on a couple weeks ago and I have a nail in them!!! This is the second time now in a year (last one was on one of my Bridgestones on my non-M Z4).

I don't think this one is repairable though because it is very close to the sidewall. Some good news though, looks like Continental has a standard road hazard warranty that will replace a tire that is damaged within the first 12 months or 2/32nds of an inch of treadwear so once the place I got them from opens at 9am I'm going to give them a call.

Quote:
Road Hazard Coverage

This Road Hazard Coverage is offered to promote goodwill and is not a
warranty that your tire will not fail or become unserviceable due to a road
hazard injury. This Road Hazard Coverage applies to all Continental
Branded Tires that are purchased as replacement market tires and
is a promise of replacement under certain specified conditions as
detailed below.

When an eligible tire is damaged during the first 2/32nds of an inch (1.6
mm) of treadwear or first 12 months from date of purchase, whichever
came first, the tire will be replaced with a comparable ** Continental
brand tire free of charge.

To be eligible, you need to present your original tire sales invoice showing
date of purchase, along with this Limited Warranty and Adjustment
Policy, with the Information Section completed. You are responsible for
payment of all applicable taxes, demounting, mounting and balancing
charges set forth under this Coverage. You are also responsible for payment of local tire disposal fees and any parts or service regardless
of mileage or months of service. This includes payment for tire rotation,
alignment, towing, road service and valve stems.
Tires replaced on an adjustment basis become the property of the
Company. You will be required to sign the Company Limited Warranty
Claim Form or dealer replacement sales receipt.

Hahaha I KNOW! I had a huge thing with my neighbor about them blocking my garage so I couldn't get out and things got ugly. A little while after this happened is when I got the first nail in my tire. This time, I came home last night and the neighbor was washing his car in the middle of the road and was super friendly and said "Oh don't worry, I'll move it right now" but then the next day I wake up and I have a nail in my tire. Coincidence? ............ I think not.

LOL I'm just kidding, but yeah I can't say the thought didn't cross my mind and it's funny you bring it up because I'm slightly paranoid about it.

I used to have a neighbor like that, Reginald Soul or "R. Soul" I think his name was.

I always buy tires from discount tire, they repair all holes for free and their warranty they usually replace no questions asked at a prorated rate depending on tread left.

Alright got the scoop. Basically it is covered under the original Continental warranty but I have to pay first and then Continental will issue a credit within ~90 days.

Talk about paranoia. Mt car got vandalized in my own driveway. Needless to say I have security cameras around the house installed and won't leave the Z in the driveway even for 2 minutes. Always garaged. good luck with your troubles. (think into setting up a 1-2 camera security system. It will run you under 200-300 bucks and is a peace of mind)
