New Shoes ;)

Hello all,
Today I picked up a very clean set of style 67 19 inch oem wheels got them for 650 from a gent that was but 3 cities away.
The question is what size tires am I supposed to use on these wheels?
I know the offset is 47 front 27 rear, so I figures 225/35/19 up front and 255/30/19 in the rear... Does that sound about right?
I have done a search and cant seem to get a straight answer.
I'm really hoping someone with this set up shimes in right about now. Thanks guys.

I'm unable to see the photos where I am.. but if I remember style 67s were M3 rims, no?

If your car had stock sport package then the tire sizes were:
Front: 225-40-18
Rear: 255-35-18

This would translate onto 19" rims as:

Front: 225-35-19 OR 235-35-19
Rear: 255-30-19

I'm assuming the width of the rims can support 225/235 and 255 rears.

you realize the rears will NOT fit? the 27 offset is way too low for a non-m.

In this link all he mentions is a smaller tire size, and he is also lower due to aftermarket suspension.

And I'm sure I have seen other non m's with these on. Just not sure what modifications, if any, had to be done.
Thanks again.
Keep the info coming

if you're willing to make them fit, you will definitely have to roll the rear fenders. the 225/255 sounds about right.

not too difficult if you take the crude approach of using a baseball bat, lol - seriously that's what some do. if not, you'll have to go to a shop or find someone who has a fender rolling tool.

there's not much more input you need. use the recommended tire widths. the oem 19s are a standard staggered setup so there's not much to that. its just a matter of getting the rears to fit w/o rubbing given the low offset and to do that, you'll probably need to roll the fenders.

Will go into a shop... I would hate to see what my car looks like after swinging away at it LoL

Seeing how i have not received any replies to messages Ive sent to individuals, I will go with the following

225/35 and 255/30 with rolled fenders

That should do the trick

Thanks again guys.

Cant wait for it to look like this...

not difficult at all, around $50 a side usually. They'll need a heat gun to heat up the lip really really well (make it soft / prevent paint from cracking). The tool hooks onto the wheel hub, with a long arm and a roller at the end. The roller literally rolls back and forth along the lip of the fender and 'folds' the lip inwards + up. Make sure after it's rolled you mask your paint and apply some underbody coating over the rolled lip, especially if you drive your vehicle in the winter on salted roads.

With the lip rolled up, water & salt can seep into the V and stay there, if there's even a hairline crack in there, you can have rust forming within a few years.

Speaking from experience. (not on the Z4)

I ended up using truck bed lining, worked like a charm to coat over the inside wheel well... just be very careful to mask your paint properly. The stuff is like asphalt and ridiculously difficult to clean up.

i really dont think you will need to roll your fenders. go to e46 and see what tires the non m guys are running with m fitment...remember that the z4 has more room in the rear fenders than the e46 does. so basically if an e46 non m can do it with rolled fenders you can fit the same size tires no problem.

Will do this in the morning.
No rubbing and ride comfort is pretty much the same as with the ellipsoids.
