Wheel recommendations

I've searched the wheels and tires forum...so please dont bash.. I'm having a hard time debating on 18's or 19's VMR VB3. I've seen 18 specs that work
18x8.5F ET40 225/40/18
18x9.5R ET45 255/35/18

But for 19's, does anyone own the 19's and experience rubbing? I kind of want to lose the wheel gap but i dont want to sacrifice any driving rubbing or deal with the hassle. But if it doesnt rub, i don't mind going with 19's. If you have 19's and do not rub, please let me know whatyour specs are. There aren't too many different specs on mod bargains and also they are on sale!

18's $899 down to $699
19's $999 down to $799

Having 19's with proper tires means there will be no change in diameter. That means no change in wheel to fender gap.

The rubbing you're referring too has to do with the WIDTH of the wheel and not the diameter.

Call VMR direct, and they'll tell you what rim/tire combos will fit your car. They do have a 19 inch setup that they guarantee will work on a Z4M.

That being said, you're always better off using the OEM sizes; which is 18". VMR has 18 inch VBR3s that match OEM sizes and offsets perfectly. They're shown in my signature.

Original factory says 18X8 40mm and 18x9 33mm

but i dont see any of those sizes on **********s?

I'm not too familiar with wheels and sizes at all.

VMR are 18x8.5 40 mm and 18x9.5 with either 45 or 20 mm?

Z4M OE wheels are 18x8 ET 42 and 18x9 ET 30. For tires you should be able to run 245/40 up front and 275/35 in the back with no problems

I'm planning on a 18x8.5 ET 35 and 18x9.5 ET 27 setup eventually.

IMO 19's seem to give the illusion of bigger wheel gap sometimes. I think its just from the eye seeing more wheel and less tire. Dont think ive seen a z4m with 19's in person though so it could just be something with the pictures.

Also, the tires sizes you mentioned for the 18's will give you more wheel gap since you are decreasing the aspect ratio and stretching them further than the oem 18x8 and 18x9 setup.

Looks good. I am running 19s on my Z4M. Volk Time Attacks. Only bad shot I have from my iPhone.
I am running 245/35/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears. I am thinking about moving to 245/45/19 and 275/40/19 tires soon. I used the lower profile tires because of my 3 inch drop on my M3. I am only running a 1 inch drop on my Z4M and dont rub. Not even close either.

Unless you have changed the rear differential ratio to a shorter gear (numerically higher ratio), I think you will regret getting the taller tires because you will hurt your acceleration. The car will feel slower, and that's never a good feeling.

Actually incorrect. Feels just as fast and have been through the entire wheels issues the past 20 years with all my cars. From my heavily modifed
M3, Acura NSX, Lotus, etc...

True, i called VMR and they were only charging 749.. so 50 bucks more then mod bargains and direct vendor.

I think ill be going with them

Heard great things about these as well. I'd stay w/18's as well after a lot of digging. Even tho the differences are minimal, it's still a case of show vs go.

My question along these lines is: Can we run 18x9.5 245/40/18 in the front when you're on H&R springs, instead of the usual 18 X 8.5 or 9's? The deeper dish is so much nicer imo. Anyone?

Sorry but I don't agree.
Just because *you* don't feel it, doesn't mean the statement is wrong.
You are in fact changing your final drive ratio.
