I finally decided to join the herd and buy a Motive. Sometimes following the crowd is the right thing to do.

I bought a bag from Harbor Freight and organized a brake bag kindergarten style. Everything in one place.

I used Ate Type 200, but check out Bosch brake fluid. It looks pretty good, too. I had a stuck caliper on our 330Ci, and I pushed it out by pumping the brakes. It started leaking a little, so I bought some Bosch locally until the Ate came in. For a little over $7 a liter, it was a bargain and has great specs. I bought it just to keep my MC from going dry, but I would run it if I hadn't already had the Ate coming.

That's a great little bleeder, I think you're on to something keeping all that stuff together in a bag, good idea.

Nice I've used the Motive for years without problems. My hoses eventually wore out and Motive replaced them all for me for free. If yours has the brass couplings in the hose I'd recommend taping them to prevent accidental paint damage. FWIW, I only use it to pressurize the reservoir, I don't put brake fluid in the canister. Too messy. Just make sure not to let the reservoir level get too low.

It's been a while since I bought anything for it. Had to remove the supercharger last September so that I could buy a pass for air care.
This week, I bought new bumper covers, front & rear and a new hood. Then please direct your attention to the front fender reflectors.

Bearings, motor mounts, front control arms / FCABs (lollipops were toast ~45k miles), diff bushings, RTABS/limiters (all the bushings!) transmission mounts, end links, new coilovers (Status Gruppe), exhaust hangers, alignment, all fluids. Figure it's good for another 10 years/50k miles!

The first time I used it, I placed that hose over some paper towels and rags, and sure enough, it leaked at the junction. I put some Teflon on it, and that stopped it. I also crimped the crimps a little tighter, too. Thanks!

Picked up a 1:18 scale E86 off eBay, the goal is to recreate my car as best as I can.

Excuse the crappy camera phone picture.

Guy on eBay used this once for 30 minutes, $200 cheaper than new 1/2”, 1300 lb-ft breakaway torque! Also picked up a 3/8”

Thumbs up

SaltyNC Finnegan I picked up the car today and my initial impressions on the solid motor and transmission mounts are as follows:

- Cranking the car definitely gives off more vibrations
- No real noticeable difference in idle vibrations
- Some additional dashboard vibrations between 1,500 and 2,500 RPM
- Major improvement in overall responsiveness and steering sensitivity

Overall, this is definitely not as bad as folks make it out to be and I am very pleased with the outcome. I would not recommend it for a daily driver; however, for a weekend/street/track car, this is bearable. The increased performance certainly outweighs the additional NVH noted above. Hope this helps!
