I love this car
I get bored of cars pretty easily; actually, I get bored of everything easily!
I've had my Z4 Coupe for two years now and it will be coming off warranty in the spring. Lately I've found myself thinking about how I want something else--an E89, an Elise, a DB9 (ok maybe that one isn't entirely realistic but I can dream! ). But every morning, as the garage door lifts up slowly, I gaze at that sexy rear end and I am instantly reminded of why I fell in love two years ago. The sound of the engine rev when I start it up is more effective than black coffee is at waking me up. And if that doesn't do it, the drive down Mulholland to work certainly will. I'm very lucky to have this road as my commute every morning; and what better car than the Z to tackle it with! My car has endured a lot through the past two years. It's had four homes, including it's first home; an alleyway in Boston behind Commonwealth Ave: It's had plenty of Sunday drives down to Newport, RI: It's seen Autumn in New England... ...and it's seen plenty of snow.. ...no...really...I said snow!!! From autocrosses... ...to well...uhm..."dirtcrosses"? It's led me over 3,000 miles from Rhode Island to California: ("Are we there yet?" --- "Uh, no, babydogs...we just left!") ...and down PCH from Monteray to LA: Through all of this, my Z has convinced me that no other car could fit me as suitably as it does. I'd be crazy to consider any other car, and I'm hoping to keep the Z along for another few years at least.

Nice coverage! hehe, you did well in choosing the coupe =P
But wait till you get a load of an ///M variant Maybe see if you can trade in the Z4 for an M? Since you're still in love with the Z, the M will definitely be an upgrade! |

Absolutely awesome post Nikki.
I also have gone through a LOT of cars that I got bored with very quickly. It's almost as if I was filtering through them to find a car that I truly love and don't plan to ever sell.

Wow, now I feel like my Zed might get bored. I have not done half of that stuff with it!

Thanks for the complements guys
34,000 miles on the Z now. I got it when it was a year old with almost 11,000 miles on it. The first year it was only driven on the weekends since I commuted to work by subway/train. I've been adding on a lot more recently, now that I'm daily driving it in CA. It almost makes LA traffic bearable. The trek down Mulholland is great, but then down into the city streets can be pretty hectic.

Great post. And yes, the Z4 coupe (and more so the M coupe, with the quad exhaust) has one of the greatest asses ever. No way I'm ever getting rid of this car.

Excellent writeup! There's definitely something about this car that cannot be replicated in any other. I honestly still haven't shaken the "honeymoon" effect off since I bought mine 4 years ago (and don't think it'll ever go away). And with our own long distance trip recently I can safely say that this is definitely the ultimate driving machine.
