this what I could find in the seller. I add only 1 litre on the engine and and the yellow warning stopped.
It matches the spesificatioın you gave to me. But I have a question now that should I use 5W-30 or 0W-30, which one is better? On the other hand I consider to renew oil in the engine completely? Is it make eany difference in the performance? Is better oil better performance? thanks for all post from you. regards |

Mobil 1 full synthetic 0W-40 should be just fine. Relatively cheap if you purchase 5-quart jugs from Walmart. Then buy some OEM filter kits from like Tischer BMW ( http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...egoryID=103121) or something. I believe the non-M engines use the same filters as E46? I could be wrong, but you can still navigate that site as needed and purchase what you want.

Hi all, today after stop my car I had a warning on the screen displaying engine oil pressure sign. I checked the manual and then checked engine oil level. It needs to be added 1 lt new oil. Actually I'm suprised because I fully changed engine oil in BMW service about three months ago with Castrol Full syntetic 0W-40. Now I need your ideas. Is it normal engine oil requirement in a short time about three months? It's 2007 3.0 si coupe.

And how many miles did you drive in the 3 months? Milage, not time is going to tell us if you have a problem or not. Using 1 litre every 1-1.5 thousand miles isn't uncommon.

By the way I went to BMW service. Service guy says burning oil is normal in BMW models. He changed oil with 10W-60. Now I will monitor how long will it take. |

Why would they put 10W60 in a non-M engine? I think that is too thick an oil for your engine...
If they're trying to prevent oil from burning by introducing thicker oils, then I think you should stay away from servicing with them in the future |
