I will show all your notes to my mechanic. Be sure to remember everything you have done to your car when installing as this is pure gold for me. if you have the time to take pics of the engine bay and circle around the notes that you put here, it would be insane man. I am not as technically inclined as you are.

Man am I excited about this project.

@bee:
1- What happens if i don't clock the supercharger?
2- Did the inter cooler pipes fit easily? did you have to modify any of them? where did you position them compared to the power steering hose?

pics pics pics

1) nothing but its position isnt ideal!! im an attention to detial freak!!!
2) The intercooler pipes snake in and out of the bumper sections and the rad shrouds ect ect they are abit of a bitch to fit but nothing crazy, the one is a bastardm the long one from the outlet, on my car we simply couldnt get it right so we removed it and cut it, added a section and re powder coated it....
before it would blow off and make a huge PPPOOOPP!!! lol

when i get home ill get some pics.

Too expensive and i can always sell and get HPF if they can tune it. Im still skeptical about HPF tuning capabilities.

Still going with ESS.

i dont think HPF has ever had tune issues??? or hardware issues??? im pretty certain it was getting the ECU to work, they are going to use the new AEM infinity setup now :-)

@bee:
1- What happens if i don't clock the supercharger?
2- Did the inter cooler pipes fit easily? did you have to modify any of them? where did you position them compared to the power steering hose?

pics pics pics
Here are my notes and reply

1. I didn't clock my supercharger and I'm fine. Slightly rotating it WOULD make it easier to access to screws to check the supercharger oil level
2. The pipes will not grab enough silicone connector between them if the rest of the kit isn't sitting properly. The hardest part for me was the main silicone connector coming down from the intake manifold. The supplied one was too short, so I bought a longer aftermarket one. I later realized that it was too short because of the way I positioned the intake manifold
3. The intake manifold, once you have it loosely connected, should be angled down towards the ground as much as possible while still retaining a good connection at the throttle bodies. Otherwise the blow off valve will rub against the hood, and you'll have problem #2
4. Invest in T-bolt clamps. I don't remember my sizes, but just replace the ones ESS provides. Don't overtighen T-bolt clamps, theyre very strong and can break pipework
5. The oil cooler uses STOCK o-rings. never forget. Get extras as beedup said
6. The power steering pump will be relocated during the install, be advised that its lines will be under high tension for it to placed where ESS wants it. If you can (I didn't), replace the lines with longer ones.
7. One of the lower intercooler pipes has a threaded hole thats used to grab onto a bracket and gets secured to the body of the car. I was given wrong size and shape brackets, but was able to easily manufacture one with a aluminium 1" wide bracket
8. Boost gauges are great and used often to verify that you're not getting a boost leak anywhere. They're worthless if they don't have a peak boost recall function, unless they're mounted up high near your eyes. Believe me, you don't want to be watching the boost gauge while going full throttle in 2nd gear to redline
9. Coils may blow upon initial startup. Mine did. I replaced all 6 with ones from Bavauto for about $280
10. Dynograph the car BEFORE and THEN after the install. Otherwise you will only have half of the story. Many dynos show wildly different numbers. At least you'll be able to know what your local dyno's drivetrain loss is for 333hp, and then use that info to get an accurate crank hp number after install
11. The fancy shaped plastic piping coming from the supercharger will rub on the hood, and create a shiny little wear area on the pipe. I didn't touch this, but some people found a way to increase clearance. Its only touching it by 3mm or so
12. Be there for the install. Learn it. If anything goes wrong, you should be the expert on your own car.

Guys, can you please tell me which clamps should i buy? how many and what size?
and from where if you have that info?

Should I also buy coils and sparks all together?
Should i buy the fuel filter and change that before installation?

I have 75K KM, that's like 45K miles.

here's some info on the advantage of t-bolt clamps. Sorry, you'd have to get a list of clamp sizes from ESS, I don't remember what I got

Buy new oem spark plugs
Bav auto coils are their part # 5004 6 on http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp

I would do the first startup on the old coils and plugs, and then swap in a day or 2. I don't know what it is about the very first startup that kills oem coils

last week some guy came with an old 2001 M3 to buy a KW V3 upgrade and luckily there was one in store, so we had a little chat and I asked him about his car and if he was happy with it. He had an old Rotrex build AA kit stage 1.

After some negotiation, I drove his car for a bit just for fun, I had the shock of my life.
@3k rpm cruising in 3rd gear I decide to plant it, the amount of power there was when I put my foot down was simply ridiculous, i couldn't believe that his car was 425 HP only. Compared to the dinan of my friend , this car absolutely destroys it, I don't know how would the ESS behaves in this case knowing that the dinan was pushing boost on a vortech and making 507 HP on the dyno :s

I just stopped understanding this stuff, I don't get how these supercharges develop boost :/ someone with technical data, please chime in on compressor maps.

VT2-500 with tial BOV sounds great!!!

their a special greddy to tial converter flange... this bolts right up... i think it sounds great and adds abit of drama... i LIKE!! Shame, i love the idea of recirculating boost and shoving it back into the intake...... their has to be benefits to this way, but its boring and makes no noise :-(

the one supplied with Ess is a very effective unit..... it makes some different noises but defo doesnt make the usual BOV noises as its a re-circulating unit.... so its diverting back into the intake, this should technically improve throttle response, instead of dumping the air to atmos its dumped upstream of the blower, so its been re-used....

the tial sounds sick though!!

I didn't understand something here, the small tube coming from the ESS BOV is going into the supercharger again.

How does this improve throttle response? you mean it will have the supercharger working less to suck the intake air and develop the same amount of boost?

the vortech unit re-circs back into the s/c intake..... it moves 300ish CFM of air at 8psi, to instead of dumping it out to the atmosphere making a nice noise.... it dumps this spent air BACK into the s/c pipework, this SHOULD air throttle repsonse, does it make any meaningful difference??? IDK, BUt techically speaking it should, any boost re-used is a good thing imo.... its re-filling the boost circuit instead of having to create more. any tiny help in performance is a good thing i guess......
