Edit: which is exactly the way I had to do mine today. Wish I could be sure I'd gotten all the old oil out, but it ended up taking about 1.2 qt like others have reported. Old oil looked a clear orange/amber color after 100K miles.

Did my diff today

Lost my 14mm hex so I googled and found this

http://www.bokchoys.com/differential/14mm_bolt.htm - went to home depot and pick up a bolt and 3 nuts like that. 59 cent for bolt and each nut was 12 cent

I had switch to a magnetic plug last year and here it is after 1 year.. Using redline 70w90. I drove about 6000 miles from last spring.

There wasn't a drain plug for the 07 3.0si coupe.

I've done it a couple times on mine. Had to purchase a suction extractor to get the fluid out though-- it hooks to my air compressor.

Have to fish around a bit with it to get as much out as possible, but I figure it's better than no change at all.

I see, how many miles do you have on your SI?
I just bought it a month or so. it had 122K miles on it. maintenance record didn't show that the dealer has done any diff fluid change. I am still debating if it's needed.
