M Steering wheel question

Hi all,

I have a urgent question...

I have found for sale 2 brandnew M steering wheels, one with m colored stitching and one with normal black stitching for a E85.

Now mine is a 06/2004 build and my interest is going to the black stitched. I contacted the seller because at the ad he says by the black stitched one that it will not fit E85 cars before 04/2015.

He confirmed me that it will not fit my car ??? I tought they were all the sam, I even see guys running them in there Z3's.

Can anyone give me some more advice if it is possible that I can get it fitted ?

Thanks

To my knowledge - there is no difference??? I wanted the black one as well, but got such a good deal on the multi colored that I went with that. Love the hell out of it by the way - great mod.

Maybe ask him for the part numbers? Maybe it is one for the E89 Z4??

It may have something to do with the wiring connectors if its an E89 part

Hello,

No it is a E85 part as described in their selling ad, even at the steeringwheel without control buttons is this message.

Take a look:

Agreed, there should be no difference. They all "fit". Whether or not they come with any steering wheel buttons that may vary. Some have no multifunction buttons at all.

Thank you all for the reply,

The seller even put the same words on his steering wheel without the multfunc buttons. So in his opinion it is not electrical then.

There are about 7 different t configurations with the wiring harnesses and you should take a pic and compare the two prior to buying. I purchased a carbon wheel from a company and literally had to swap it out a few times before locating the right fitting. Once I found one, I kept my core just for safe keeping.

Thanks for the reply, still waiting for the part numbers from the seller. Good advice to compare the wiring but I think that is not the issue, according the seller even the one without the controls will not fit.
