No Antenna

I would like to shave the antenna on my E86. Any ideas?

I am keeping my antenna removed all the time, I don't use FM/AM.

But I don't know how to remove the base? Help me.

I don't think anyone here has completely removed theirs. I took off the top part, like you did. You may have to access it from under the fender

Yours may be a bit seized. Put a towel around the base and try turning it with pliers.

just the top section unscrews. the conical cover plate remains on the car if you are just putting a stubby in the place of the oem antenna. lefty loosen (counterclockwise) as you would expect.
