Smoke coming from engine

I did a cvv change this weekend (would anyone like a DIY?) and smoke started coming out for a few minutes but stopped completely and haven't done so in the last 24 hrs. However, I did spot this burnt area and would like to see if anybody knows where this is coming from. Thanks.

You have oil grime on top off the exhaust manifold heat shield, possibly have a valve cover leak, smoke was probably an oil droplet dripping onto your exhaust manifold and burning off.

When you bled the clutch, did some clutch/brake fluid drip onto the exhaust perhaps?

i opened up the bay to see the spark plugs and saw that there was some leakage. I'm thinking of doing a full spark plug replacement and valve cover gasket.
I found the nuts, spark plugs and valve cover gasket from pelican bay auto but don't know where i can find the rubber grommet that some people are saying we need to replace.

check penskeparts.com or realoem.com to get the part numbers, the dealer may have 6.

I would love a CCV diy for BMW z4, I just ordered the parts and I started disassemble the air box etc and found that it is different from the bavauto videos.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Unless your car was formerly owned by Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, let's hope it was just some excess oil burning off.
