Z4 2.5si wheel offset

Dear all,
I am new to the post. Apologies if this question may sound stupid.

I would like to install 18" rims and was wondering about the correct offset.

Was looking at advansa rims and the offsets given are the following:
18"x8.5" +38mm
18"x8.5" +32mm
18"x9.0" +24mm
18"x9.5" +35mm
18"x9.5" +25mm
18"x10.0" +20mm

these are fairly different from the standard z4 setup

could you please indicate which could be the perfect offset to install so that performance is not affected?

would really appreciate your help.

thanks alot

I would recommend the following for your 2.5si:

18"x8.5" +38mm
18"x9.5" +35mm

i would not recommend 18" x 9.5" et35 for the rear...

see this post - http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=344535

9.5" et35 will stick out 2mm farther than the 9" et30 used in the above post.

9.5" ET35 will stick out a little bit on a non-M. You will need to add some negative camber to tuck them in. I'd recommend 9.5" ET40-45.

That's interesting...I ran a set of 19X10s et35 for the rear with 265/30/19s and it didn't stickout as it did for the above post. My car however is lowered, with a good amount of negative camber, so that may be why .

ok... so the best set up would be:
18"x8.5" +38mm
18"x9.5" +40-45mm

thanks alot for your help...
I have also seen a set of ultraleggera's. They come 18"x8 front and 18"x9 rear. What would be the ideal offset??

Thanks alot for your help guys...

front -->
9.0" width = et42 (might be close to the suspension)
8.5" width = et35
8.0" width = et29

rear -->
9.5" width = et42
9.0" width = et35
8.5" width = et29

there is essentially a 0.5" difference between the front and rear widths vs. offsets for the non-///m cars. IMO, the best look for the non-///m's is...

18" x 8.5" et40 front
18" x 9.5" et45 rear

you can use an 8.5" et35 in front, but it is really flush. you may find that a minor increase of front neg camber gives a less aggressive look with this offset. but in the end... it's all about personal taste.

also, IMHO a 19" dia makes the non-///m brakes look silly and small. especially in the rear. definately search the forum for pics before you buy anything. the main "color thread", which has lots of pics, can be found here...

http://www.bimmerpost.com/color-threads/

...otherwise use the search function.

The new wheels I just had installed on my '03 2.5i Sport pkg. are 18x8 with 35 offset in front and 18x9 with 38 offset in the rear. They fit flush with the wheel wells/fenders.
Pretty much what others have recommended for the 2.5i as well. They're just about as perfect a fit that you're gonna find.

I was going either for the Forgestar F14 or the Advan RS

Forgestar is no problem for offset however I still need to get a reply from Mod Bargains. Advan RS they only come with +32 front and +35 rear this is according to the guy at European Auto Source.

But the Forgestars are a little bit expensive
