These are direct bolt ons, with no modification in tune or otherwise? Correct?

Maaaaan these things are pretty! Is there a big difference (in power) between the European headers to the European CSL headers?

Correct, direct bolt-on. Tune not required but would be recommended to optimize the free-flow nature of these catless headers.

I have no experience so I can't answer.

I have read some modification is needed to bolt these up. You either need to retap the manifolds for the 02s and other connections, or you need to extend the wires. Could you enlighten me on this? Is it truly direct bolt on with no issues or is there something that has to be modded?

From what I understand, you will need to move the after cat O2 sensor to behind the secondary cats. The euro secondary cats have a port for this location. US does not. So you will need to weld a port in your existing secondary cats or purchase a DKF or euro (rare) secondary pipe with cats. However, there is some issue with passing smog in some states with this set up as a check engine light could be thrown with the DKF pipes. I think the euro version does not throw a CEL. You will also need a tune to get the performance out which is about 30hp. You may also be able to suppress the CEL through a tune. But after all this, I understand the sound is amazing.

When I swapped to euro headers, I utilized a modified US OEM section 1 pipe with the o2 sensors and EGT sensor relocated. This essentially mimics the euro z4m cats, which if you can find a set are stupid expensive since they are rare. Just in case I wanted to swap back to the original exhaust, I obtained a second set of US-spec section one cats and had the o2 bungs rewelded for a total cost of $300 to me. A quick search will result a few diy's on how to do this.

Going this route keeps all o2 sensors and doesn't create a CEL. FWIW I am in Illinois and have the Epic Tune as well, and I passed emissions last month without reverting back to the OEM tune

As far as the o2 and EGT wires are concerned, you don't need to extend them, there is just enough length in the OEM wires. I had no issues by undoing the sensors from the wiring looms and rerouting them under the car.

^ he's right. I found just enough length on the O2's and EGT. You kinda just have to run them down a certain path to get to the pipe.

Shops in the bay have quoted me 5 to 10 hours for install so install quotes have ranged from $600 - $1200. Some shops have flat out refused because a header swap is technically only meant to be used for off-road(I.e. track).

Best bet may to be find an enthusiast to help with the install in a driveway.

I haven't had a chance to get my headers installed yet either otherwise I would have been able to give you a better/more specific recommendation for a header install in the bay area.

I did mine with a few other things (notably Rod Bearings) and was only charged 2 hours. May want to consider combining it with some other items to save a little.
