nevermind... DrVanos.com

Will prob just replace it with one of theirs.... through the end of Feb... $200

""Fully cleaned and rebuilt vanos unit with new seals and O-rings installed. In addition, we rebuild the internal bearings and reduce the tolerances to eliminate the 'marbles in a tin can' noises commonly found on the 'ZHP' package E46 models. The kit also includes a new vanos gasket and crush washers. Don't settle for half a rebuild, get the complete package with our dual vanos kit. "" -DrVanos.com

I found this:

http://www.beisansystems.com/procedu..._procedure.htm

I also have the Vanos rattle, so I plan on doing that procedure and the spark plugs at the same time:

for $200 its not bad, If I didn't wanna go through with the hassle I would but since I've already done it and it's not THAT bad, I would recommend just buying the seals, they are only what, $70.
just FYI, it is a B*TCH to remove the vanos unit because the front radiator support(metal bar) is in the way. It needs about 1/2" more space for it to come out. I've used a pry bar against the rad suport to move the engine a little to wiggle it out. you might dent it a little but it covers well with your well.... a rad cover.

I've done this at like 80k and it was simple following the procedure found on E46fanatics.com ALL OEM parts were bought from tischer BMW

it would be wise to do the following while you are doing this
-new valve cover and grommets(a must)
-spark plugs
-Seafoam(before, approx 100miles or less..just how I did it)
-Oil change
-water pump
-thermostat
-both fan belts
-tensioner/idler if you REALLY need it, but i have a feeling you probably won't
-I think i've made it a maintenance day and did a diff fluid change as well. I skipped the tranny because it was changed not too long ago from Dealer with OEM fluid

I used the Beisansystems procedures back in 2007. The entire job took about four (4) hours to complete.
