Black roll bar covers?
Has anyone replaced their plastic roll bar covers with black ones or painted them black? Are the covers even available in black? I think the graphite stands out too much.

"M" Roadsters have black roll bars and black grills, Non M's are graphite.

The roll bar covers would have to be painted on the car as they will probably break if you try to take them off. Or you could order a set of covers for an M.

I did a mix of my original 'Chrome line' covers and black, when I installed the OEM windblocker. I liked the way the combination looks on the E89 roll bar covers, and am pleased with how it turned out.
I ordered the cheap grey covers for the front half, painted and baked them in the oven for a while - it gave them a nice durable finish. |

If you look at my mod thread, i have the part numbers for the black covers. Be advised though, the covers came with the holes pre-drilled for the wind screen, so you'd have to plug those up (or just go ahead and get the wind screen while you're at it, the screen itself is cheap, what makes it expensive is buying the covers).

I bought them from Tischer. They weren't listed on their site, but they were able to order them from Germany for me by the part number, as part of a larger order I was placing. That was over a year ago - I hear they are becoming difficult to get now.

I have a convertible top problem but promised myself when I fix it I am going to reward myself with those covers. They look very nice. |
