Applying Brakes sounds Horn
On my 2004 BMW Z4 3.0 when I hit the brakes fairly hard the horn sounds, any ideals what is causing this and how to fix it?

Maybe the horn contact switch is going forward and making contact from the deceleration.
Run the car into a wall without using the brakes and see if it does it then, then you'll know if it's the deceleration or something related to the brakes doing it. Kidding of course, but serious about the first part.

That is a rather funny problem but I'm sure you're more aggravated than humored by it right now.
Since bmw's adapt throttle mapping to the driver, maybe you've discovered that the bmw ecu learned to adapt to your aggressive braking and it now applies the horn instead of you having to use it manually. Now that I got that out of my system, I would try disconnecting/reconnecting the battery. |
