How to I get the center storage compartment between the backrests to close?
I appreciate the help guys. I can't get the center storage compartment in my 2003 Z4 to close. The latch must need some kind of adjustment, but I have no idea where to start. I can't leave my car parked with the top down anymore because I can't get the compartment to close which is terrible. Can I order parts off a website if I need to replace something? Thanks in advance.

Short answer, yes, you can order parts.
Start here--it's a bit of a PITA and you have to go through the diagrams (the "trick" is finding which category really applies to what you're looking for since they're not intuitive). Then order from your local stealership or buy from Tisher or BMWpartz. Beware of shipping charges on the online route, what you save on small parts can be eaten up by shipping costs and sometimes the stealer is the better deal. |

Thanks Finnegan and Roffle Waffle. The latch is not holding.
Here is a diagram of the center console: Is the latch included on part number 14? Could the latch be number 6? This is a good start. Now that I have the diagram perhaps I can figure out how to fix this thing. |

You can always call the dealer and ask what comes with part x or y. Usually they'll tell you--that's the best way to do it from my experience.

Quote:
#14 is just a cover with 2 big buttons on it, and #6 is a plastic or rubber trim piece
