Z4 Gas Cap Plastic Shroud removal
Greetings Gents!
Just bought my first Z4, and I think I'm going to like it. It's an '05, and has a small ding just below the gas lid. If I could remove the plastic shroud inside the lid, I believe I could push out the ding. I removed the size 15 tork screw, but there must be something else to remove before the plactic piece comes out. Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated. Once I fix this ding, I'll be working on the bluetooth. Thanks in advance! dabo, Heideberg, Germany |

hey, any updates on this? have you already been able to remove it? if not, can you maybe post a picture for us to see? i'm just curious what you're referring to.

Oh I just did this to straighten out my door, which was just a smidge off center.
There's one screw (T20) on the left side, then there's a grommet that centers the gas lock (a plastic pin). Remove both the screw and grommit and the whole door, hinge, and rubber boot wiggle out. I can't remember if I could look down and see the inside of the fender. You could always remove the tire and fender liner and get in from the bottom. Hope this helps! |
