Question about the stock AMP (non-dsp)
We are talking non-DSP here:
OK so here is something I don't get, everyone says everything but the basic sound system is hard to upgrade. Is the BMW amp that hard to drive with an after market head? Does it need some weird input levels/specs? I have the HiFi System Professional, which I believe is the 10 speaker non-DSP system. And I'd like to upgrade the system head. I do have thoughts of yanking the default amp and radio head and replacing both while keeping the wiring intact. As I find my speakers are quite good, I just need XM and bluetooth. |

Ha, I have my answer, I just educated my self in the i-bus, apparently the amp needs a signal over the i-bus telling it to turn on and so forth... easy enough, I'll plan my install around yanking the head and the amp, keeping the wiring and speakers.
I am off to find pin outs, wiring maps, speaker specs... !! |

I finished my install, I put a Jensen VX7010, with the XM Radio module. I decided to pull everything and run new wiring to the existing stock speakers. Sounds good! Now I have GPS and very nice GPS I must say. Good little radio for ~300$US + ~50$US for the XM module. If you want details let me know.
I will be posting my stock BMW carver AMP forsale. |
