Rolling back the Miles is pretty easy on our Z4s but the Km are a little trickier.
I would agree with Z4Kevo, running it in reverse should do the trick.

After all, if you could figure out how to roll the odometer back you could also almost certainly figure out how to control the inspection timer - and get that free Inspection II under warrantee than most of us only dream about. BMW would be awfully unhappy if lots of folks started to manage that.

Well, obviously not a lot of happy campers out there. I made this post to see if others have ever heard about doing it, simply because I found out that one of my buddy's is able to do it..So for you all thinking that no... it is impossible, i surely hope you reconsider your beliefs because it is possible.. meaning those cars that are selling used could simply be rolled back.. anyways obviously if you're going to be ignorant than np.

The problem isn't whether or not it can be done (everyone was saying the new 3er couldn't be stolen - which will motivate people to find a way). The problem is that as a newer member to the forum, you made a post asking if anyone knew how to do this, without support for why the question was asked.
Sends up red flags to anyone reading it. I think if your original post was something to the effect of "my buddy's shop knows how to rollback the odometer on these cars; make sure you're extra careful when purchasing a used vehicle". You'd have found a much different response.

i am pretty sure there are ways to roll the odo back as i heard many shit dealers do these kinda of things. However roll back doesn't seem to benefit anyone but the shit second hand dealer. For normal people who buy z they don't get to the 50k mile mark before their four year free warranty anyways so it isn't really a problem.

Troll alert. It isn't clear that the OP even owns a BMW. No authorized dealer would ever attempt to alter the miles of a used BMW, and I very much doubt that the typical used car dealer or private owner has nearly enough equipment or computer skills to alter the data stored in the various modules. This post is a waste of time and nonsense.

The rollback would only be good if you didn't use the service for the 50K miles or did it afterwards. Every time the car is in for service they put your key into a little sensor and it syncs all of your cars info with the database. They showed me that cool little thing after my first couple services. They could tell me exactly what miles were on the car on the previous services.
