Best M Shift Knob

For some reason the stock knob on my 07 M Coupe begins to show signs of wear around the back lift shift plate. They have already swapped the first one. So I'm beginning to think something in my chemistry doesn't agree with the leather there.... Never had this before...

Anyhow, any suggestions for backlit M Shift knobs? Aluminum, carbon, leather etc?

Whalen Shift Machine, very well engineered and a precision fit for BMWs. I also like the ZHP knob. Starscream has made some illuminated ZHP knobs in red and white lighting.
