Well finished installing mine last night. Had to dremel a little less than a 1/4 inch off the RE Trans mounts so they would not touch the exhaust. Car sounds good. Reset the emission sensors and going through the drive cycle process. Didn't get enough miles on it during the drive to work this morning. Will report back what I find.

Had mine installed, and while your mileage may vary, I still got a check engine light. Not a problem for me at this point, as I already have a tune to take care of that. It was good that DKF followed-up to try to make things right.

On a different note, I've decided it's time to sell my ///M and venture into the Corvette world, at least for a couple of years... I'll be posting it here and other places online once I have an opportunity to take some good pictures.

id LOVE a new z06 with the aero pack.... sadly out of my price range by the time its reaches the uk.. That is a very special car imo.

Great news that everybody is getting these installed and finally people can enjoy their DKF parts.

Unfortunately I am getting the same results. I finished installing the parts Monday night and drove to work Tuesday following the drive cycle.

Once at work, I checked and I had one code pending, the dreaded P0420. While at work I did some research that suggested that new cats take a few heat cycles before they "bake" and they start to perform better. Sounds plausible so when I left work, I drove it hard on the way home, made sure it got nice and hot.

Last night around midnight, I donated an hour and a half to testing out the cats. I drove around very easy until the car was up to temp, started the drive cycle process on an empty highway. Checked for codes, P0420. Cleared codes, drive cycle again, codes P0420.

I guess I'll be going back to my modified OEM cats but not until I find some time a few weeks from now. I'll continue to drive, clear codes, drive cycle & check but I'm pretty sure I will get the same results because they should of been "baked" by now. Curious to hear other's reports.

I've been through this with other CATs that had to burn in.
I had initial code trip
Then I hit about 350 miles before I got another one.
After that it was fine.

It will be April before I get a chance to install mine.

if I'm totally honest id guess that the amount of cat material (irrespective of 100/300cell) just isn't enough for the car to complete its system tests, the oem cats are around x10 the length and considerably thicker, so id guess without a tune these will always cause a CEL, which imo is to be expected on such a free flow stepped setup.

The z4m is already very sensitive to exhaust changes. my FI car is still working fine but as we all know the tune is "Catless" ready, strangely even with this setup the rear o2s must be working and in place for the CEL to stay off, give it little more time however as they may need more miles/ heat to be fully functional.

I have only hit about 250 miles on the cats so far. Schedule and weather permitting, I hope to drive it a lot more over the next week. Will keep y'all updated with my findings.

Update on my install. Ran with resonators and of course got a CEL but the sound was incredible (I will post a video comparison video soon). On Monday I had the 300 cell cats installed. I've driven almost a tank of gas since then and no CEL!! Def lost sound, but still sounds great under power.

Here's an interesting fact. Ever since we did the install my starter has been acting funny though. I want to think we didn't mess with any of the connection except for when we were cutting into the plastic to lengthen the post cat o2 sensors. But we used a screw driver to create the gap and not damage the wires.

Any thoughts? Would a starter really go out at 73k miles?

Hoping to finish these up this weekend. Do I remember reading somewhere that longer m8x35s are needed to connect to headers?

That's what i was thinking. No CEL after a tank of gas with the 300 cell cats.

I'm starting to think that cars which put more heat into the cats won't get a CEL... forced induction, ceramic coated headers or s-pipes, etc.

Blind32, what's your setup if you don't mind me asking? Did you cut and extend the O2 sensors, or cut into the harness and unfold the extra wiring? Are you 100% sure that each bank's sensor went into the correct bung?

It sounds like you're the first one to get this working with the 300 cell cats.

I have SS V2 Stepped Headers that are JetHot coated. DKF Polished setup. I Unfolded the O2 and rerouted them to make them reach. I am 110% sure each bank is in the correct bung. I am getting the p0420 for cat inefficiency.

Putting the cats on and just driving around normal won't throw a CEL for a long time because the DME needs specific data collected to perform the drive cycle test. If you have access to a code reader, I recommend clearing/reseting codes, then performing the drive cycle. Until the drive cycle is finished, your DME will be in a "not ready" state.

I have Active Auto headers, DKF Polished, 300 cell cats. Unfolded the o2 sensors. 350 miles and no CEL still. Starter is acting up though. Sigh.

Sorry to hear about the starter, however, on the Cats

As I said in your other thread, if you keep OEM NA spec headers there will be no CEL because no sensors are relocated. As another member said he has passed smog with this setup running just the resonators.

^ correct, other than visual which depends on the test center.

If you want more power, you can run catless headers once DKF releases their 400 cell cats. They are under development with a very reputable company, but I'll hold off on passing any more info until things finalize.
