Parked for winter

Living in Seattle, WA with our winter rains. I put my Z4 roadster in my shop the first of October and bring it out the first of April.

Mid November to May 1st. It's a killer. I do spend March and April in Florida. But there is still salt on the road May 1st.

Well, last Saturday, the temperature readout on the dash looked like this so I figured it was time.

And for those who don't like the metric system:

Do you know how much "fun" it to wash the car when its cold like that? Yipes! But I managed it all the same (thanks mostly to my rinse bucket of toasty warm water):

And after topping up the tank with gas and the tires with 5 extra pounds, waxing, an interior vacuuming, and hooking up the battery tender, all tucked away until next spring:

I guess today. It is snowing in Chicago and roads are getting salted by me. I did not get to top off the tank (it is 1/3 full) or change the oil before putting the Moupe away for the winter. I can top off the tank w/ a gas can and add Stabil but....either I do a cold oil change or let it go until spring.

Put mine away as well for the season and brought the insurance down to the bare minimum. Theft and fire.

While I haven't driven the cars for a few weeks, I just 'made their beds' and put them away this weekend. Filled the tanks with gas, changed the oil, foam under the tires, tarps over the concrete, and tenders on the batteries.

Excuse the tires, the next day they were on the winter beaters and out of the garage so it gives a bit more breathing room for the toys.

Like most Canadians, as soon as salt is applied to the roads, for me this year it was the first week of December. Now to drive the TT 3.2L Quattro for the winter - not quite as sweet but goes like hell in the snow.

Never. I live in Miami and I ride my Honda Blackbird CBR 1100XX to work on mornings that it is not raining. My mcoupe is my daily driver when I need a car for errands that require a car or storage (can't pick up dry cleaning on my bike, can drop it off though on my bike!) Love living in FL.

Thanks. I'd say one of the better investments in the garage. The tiles are Ribtrax by Swisstrax.

I waterless washed it, and put the big pajamas on it last week. Pulling into the garage to see it covered and knowing I won't drive it for months hurts my soul.

Much like my former motorcycles: Never. East Tennessee is fairly mild in the winter with only a few weeks of really bad weather. Plus having a coupe, it's not too bad.

After the temps hit 55F today and twelve hours of rain washed the salt and snow away, I snuck Zed out for an afternoon of after Christmas shopping today. By the time we got home, the temps had dropped back down to freezing, but it was a clean driving day!

I put mine away in the middle of summer when I got transferred to Hawaii and didn't ship any of my cars with me On the bright side, I'm still wearing shorts and short sleeves here. On the down side, I drive a Honda Pilot to and from the beach everyday. First world problems...

Based on current weather in Cincinnati, how long it has been since it snowed, then all of the rain we have had I plan to get it back out.
