It looks neat on the picture but I'm certainly interested about this in real life. Please post pics when it arrives! It appears that it is mechanical (wind up??).

I love watches, but can't be convinced to spend large gobs o money on one. A few years ago my wife bought me a Tag from Costco that didn't work out of the box (likely a dead battery). I couldn't find anyone that could replace it reasonably so we returned it.

I had a Citizen that spontaneously died, and two ESQ that were flaky. To be honest, and don't judge me, but the best watches I've owned are Timex and Casio. I've got a few really nice looking ones and they just keep working. The Casio Ediface are nice.

I got a subscription offer to Canadian Business once that came with a free watch. The ironic part is that they advertise high end stuff to executives including Brietling and others, and the watch they ended up sending was the most hideous, cheap crap I've ever seen. Worse than dollar-store quality. Not that I expected any different, just found it funny.

For my current corporate work, I have a Rolex Submariner. Not as comfortable and since I only wear it when I go to NYC, not very accurate. Not worth $7,000.

If status weren't an issue, I'd wear Skagen watches. I have a couple and they are lightweight and thin.

But 95% of the time, you'll find my Casio on my wrist. And I wear it with the face down, not up. Just an old habit from my Navy days, I guess.

That being said, and to get back on topic, I put a bid in for the Z4M watch on ebay. It will go in a drawer.

Same as me. My $1,600 Philip Stein looks great and is always a conversation starter but its big and heavy and only for work or going out. When I'm in Africa, I have my $9.97 Walmart digital...it has a night light AND an alarm!!!! Oooooo

I've been a loyal Citizen fan-boy since 1997 when I bought my titanium Eco-drive. Still holds a charge and works flawlessly. Since then have bought 4 others in various styles. Not a status piece, but looks great and functions perfectly. Much like my 2.5i Z4.

I've owned my Bretling Colt for almost 20 yrs, worn it everyday. The first scratch on the case eventually blends in with all the other inevitable scratches and it looks fine, like a patina of pride or something. Only have one scratch on the glass (from a diamond ring). Watches are meant to be worn, not stored. just my .02

Yes...but my ownership of my Z3M/Z4M has exponentially increased my OCD for scratches and dings...

My best friend is in the jewelry business and told me a cheap Casio or Citizen with a quartz movement will keep better time than any pricy mechanical watch like a Rolex, Breitling or Chopard. When you buy something that expensive you're essentially buying a piece of jewelry that doesn't function any better than a $5 kid's watch. But if that's your thing then go for it.

This strap cost 10x more than your Ebay watch so I hope you match it with a decent watch!

It's custom made by The Strap Smith:

http://www.thestrapsmith.com/default.php

He also sells just the ///M buckle in the buckle section.

Does "Custom" make Copyright infringement OK

To me, its different than when a company copies something that the original makes. For example, knock off Prada bags or something like that. If BMW doesn't offer something that I want, I don't have an issue. A perfect example here is the guys with the M pedals...highly doubt they are licensed.

That's just my take but I recognize both sides of that argument.

They quickly took offense to a hat that was being sold on Bimmerfest a couple of years ago
