Service 1 and valve adjustment
Hi fellow GTAers
I'm looking at doing my service 1, replacing the notorious motor mount bolts and replacing the motor mount bushings. I would normally go to my usual shop but the valve adjustment has me nervous. Anyone have any recommendations for this work and the valves more specifically. |

Sorry cant recommend anyone on the valves, that's one reason I did my own.
If you are doing motor mounts be sure to check out the vibratech thread.

Leny's Automega in Mississauga
http://www.lenysautomega.com/ The main guy you want doing it is Reggie (BMW Master Mechanic). He was recommended to me by Shereef who had that guy do it for him, above many other things to his kick butt Z4M. I had Reggie do my alignment with KW V3's. I would've let him do the valve adjustment but that meant me leaving my car there over night and driving there and back pretty much twice with multiple cars (round trip 100km each time) made it unrealistic as I also daily commuted at that time about 60km/day and needed my car. In the end it isn't too hard to do yourself. Having done it twice on my car and once for Mike. Worth the cost of the kit if you are handy and like to work on your car. |
