LOL assuming you get traction? There are a lot of variables there in those times... driver, tires type, tire width, etc...

ESS, any pictures of the setup installeD?

You can have the car for as long as you need it if I can get the five finger discount on the kit?? I could give it the torture test at some redline time attacks and track days for them!

Send me an email roman@esstuning.com. These kits will use the same intake manifold as we used on the CFR kits so they will look alot like our previous versions. The numbers show on the dyno are stage 1 whp. I will hopefully have pics soon.

At 400rwhp in a car this weight I'd imagine trap speeds between 116 and 119, in the same area as an LS3 Vette, or a bit quicker.

Catless headers wont be a problem right? Also, how much power could I expect with catless headers?

Catless headers are not a problem. We recommend the OEM euro headers. We have seen 15-20hp gains with headers on this car.

Rom3n,

First of all, this kit looks great and the published stats are amazing. Have you been able to collect data on how (if) the kit changes the engine's life, and how well as mainenance procedures would change? Are there any risks, for example when tracking or running the engine hard over extended periods? Thanks in advance,

Pat

Why the change from ASA to VT?

Any technical reason to this?

We are also looking to sponsor a Z4 M in exchange for letting us use the car for a few weeks to finish a bit of US testing on our stage 1 kit. This person would also be able to provide real world feedback to the community. If anyone is interested in having us install a stage 1 kit in their car at a discount and can have the car delivered to AZ and left for a couple weeks send me a PM or email

During our standard 40k + miles of R&D all of our test cars have their motors inspected for unusual wear or damage. This kit in another version was tested long ago for the E46 M3 application and has been running in lots of cars all over the world with no issues. With proper tuning and lower boost levels FI can be very safe on a stock motor. Where you will have issues is when a tuner does not tune properly or decides to run levels of boost that exceed what is safe for the stock motor. The VT stage 1 is a very low boost kit. When we get to something extreme like the high boost VT stage 3 we do a proper build out of the motor upgrading the pistons and rods.

We have decided to create a new series for both the E46 M3 and the Z4M based on the Vortech blower for several reasons. First is the Vortech V3 blower can be installed in a stage 1 445 hp kit and later be used in a 500-550 hp stage 2 kit and even a 700+ Stage 3 kit if the customer decides to upgrade. We have had alot of CFR customers wanting to upgrade their kits to make more power. To do this it would require the blower to be replaced. The ASA blower used in the CFR series kit can only produce power to around 550 hp. The second reason for the change is cost. We have recieved alot of email and phone calls from customers wanting a lower priced option for the Z4M. The ASA blower is expensive and connot be used in an entry level kit like the Vortech, so instead of having 3 or 4 different product lines and models we simplified it.

This new line allows us to make an affordable and simple stage 1 product that has a easy to understand upgrade path. This exact same system in a stage 3 form is currently used in the worlds fastest Z4M coupe "750 hp" that is going to attempt to break the Nurburgring lap record.

hi roman,
will there be or is there an australian distributor, any idea on shipping to aus,
and what is the story with fueling/computer, is it just a reflash?
also what is stage 2 cost, and does the engine need any internals changed/ or a decompression plate??
also in australia we have 98-100 ron fuel, would there still be mods needed and what sort of power would u expect stage 2?
thanks
peter

Another potential UK customer here

So about 260lb.ft. and 400hp to the wheels? How does that compare to a stock Z4M at the wheels?

Also what happens when we need to to take our cars in for Inspection 1/2?

Thanks.
