Video on our Nav Screen
I already have a video module for the nav screen. I use it for a backup camera and a front bumper camera. Its very useful for parking.
I'm thinking of adding a toggle switch to add a component video option to my nav screen. That way I can mirror my iphone (or any component video) to the nav screen. My question is would you guys even use that option? I'm thinking I might be modding just to mod. Would YOU add the video option to your nav? We already have aux-in so the audio is already there. It would take about 50 bucks and a few hours of work. What are your thoughts on this option? The quality would obviously not be the best.

I'm really interested in how the backup camera is set up.

I've been considering the cameras.
They keep jacking with the parking lots at work and now I have to park against blocks/curbs.

The video module plugs into the rear of the DVD player. I was able to access the rear wiring of the DVD player from the trunk (although it took surgical precision to do so). The video module sits near it. The camera wiring is pretty straight forward. I put the camera down near the mesh part of the lower rear bumper. I routed the wiring through one of the rubber plugs in the trunk floor. I think I bought a new rubber grommet and added a sealer to keep the water out. I can't remember where I connected the ground but there is a bundle of ground wires to the right of the Coupe battery (or you could connect it straight to the battery ground terminal). The power wire I spliced into the reverse lights. That wire is easy to find because u can easily access the reverse lights and see the wiring. I didn't use a relay because the camera uses little juice. The remaining signal wire coming from the camera goes to the module video input.

The curb cement thingies are deadly. I drive multiple vehicles so it's hard to accurately remember the front bumper limits. Plus hood is SO long. The camera helps tremendously. I actually have the camera situated behind the mesh (because it's otherwise an eye sore) so the camera shoots through the mesh (which is not ideal). I just ordered a smaller camera that I can place further forward for unobstructed viewing.
