Clutch pedal height

I'm new to manual transmissions, so maybe it's just me. Does the clutch pedal seem to lay to high, compared to the brake pedal say? The throw length just seems so long. I added a clutch stop as long as would allow me to start the car still. That helped a good bit with throw length, but lifting my left leg up so high seems awkward. Also a bit of left to right slop to it, not huge, but present.

Suppose I'm use to it, but how many have replaced their stock clutch pedal? What are the best options?

eBay clutch stop will also make a big difference. I took about an inch or so out of the throw of mine, much nicer now.

I had some time to sit and contemplate today, and mine is the same way.
Never noticed it, really, but it's about an inch higher than the brake pedal and does have quite a bit of side slop.

Mason Engineering Clutch Pedal ... Hmmm

Anyone actually installed a Mason on a non-M? I'm not having any success, appears the power steering module is in the way..

Hmmm... here too. Lot of side to side slop. More like 3/4" diff higher than brake for me?

Mason Engineering Clutch Pedal looks nice, but very pricey.

Ok, I finagled it on.. not the easiest.

Had to put a bushing on the upper pin, slide clutch actuator into slot of pedal, then kind of spin/twist the upper part of the pedal onto the pin. Would have never gone on any other way. The power steering unit is definitely in the way for us non-M. My pedal also looks different from say the one on "BillsWebSpace". I also had to move the magnetic clutch switch a bit to retain my clutch stop. The stock clutch stop did work unaltered, but then another 1" would be added to the throw.

The pedal also sits maybe 1/4" deeper than the brake pedal, and feels much more comfortable.

The stock pedal spring is a bit too large in diameter, it gets squished between the pedal and the power steering unit. But only stops about 1/16-1/8" of pedal recoil when clutch is disengaged.

Wow does it feel good though.. along with ZHP knob, driving is a bit more like I expected it. I do feel like I have to relearn out to drive it.

PS. Watch out for stock shift knobs epoxied on... almost tore a muscle trying to pull it off.

You will get used to it quickly, this pedal with a revised clutch stop is a must-do mod
