New set of tires
Hello,
Will get a new set of tires very soon as mine are worn out. Need advice. Below are some numbers to guide but can't make the decision yet. Front wheel: 18" x 9" et42 Rear wheel: 18" x 10" et25 Front tire options: 245/40-18 (total diameter 653mm, sidewall 98mm) Current, but rubs. 245/35-18 (total diameter 629mm, sidewall 86mm) Clears the diameter and sides to avoid rubbing, but drops more so need to match the rear. 255/35-18 (total diameter 635mm, sidewall 89mm) Clears the diameter, but each side will extend by 5mm which may cause rubbing? Or look ugly? Rear tire options: 275/35-18 (total diameter 649mm, sidewall 96mm) Current, no prob. 285/30-18 (total diameter 629mm, side wall 86mm) Will match with 245/35 on front, but isn't too much on 10" width wheel? |

Hi buddy,
how much are you dropped? 275 will work no doubt.. tire choise is also relevant.. 245/40 with 275/35 is a nice combo for 18" and if you like some really nice light steering, 235/40 is also an option. if your getting rubbing at 245, why would you try to go 255 up front? 285 on 10" should fit fine, once again tire brand/style will matter when are you gonna come for a drive in Dubai mate? i wanna check out your hood. > actually, better you dont, i don't need another expense atm while saving up for my next …upgrade. seriously mate, drop in for a coffee

I'm probably going to get mass flamed for this, but I don't care. For the past couple months, I've been running Nankang Noble 2 tires on my ///M in 245 and 275 sizes. I have been absolutely THRILLED with the tires. I got the whole set mounted and installed for around $450. They have performed wonderfully in the rain, light snow/ice, etc. Honestly, unless I'm thinking about it at the time, I can tell no difference in daily driving between them and high priced Continentals or Michelins.
I bought them in the first place because I only needed a tire to last a few months until Spring when I put my new wheels/tires on, but I'm seriously considering buying them whenever I need tires now. They have been fantastic. |
