Everyone Wants to Race Me
This kills me, I went out and spent $21,500 on my car, and I constantly get guys in $75,000 to $100,000 new cars (Porsches, Jaguars, Hemi whatever craps, Corvettes, etc...) trying to race me or show me up. I'd hate to think I spent that much on a car and still feel the need to "show up" an 8 year old, $20k car. Admittedly, my car is in excellent condition and looks great, but geez, come on.

In my neck of the woods, I get this from two segments: (1) Honda Civic SI's of any vintage, (W and W/O fart can exhausts) and Ford Mustangs. But there was this one old guy in a very dirty 2003 merlot red Z4 who dropped the clutch and took off at a stop light as I was about to wave a friendly hello. Knob!
Jag, Porsche and other BMW owners seem sensible enough for the most part.

Yeah, definitely happens. I get the same. Hilarious but also annoying. Guys are always wanting to race my wife. The red Z, headers, exhaust, wheels, etc. and car itself attract them like a moth to a flame. Typically Evos and Scoobs. They all look surprised when she rolls down the window and rolls her eyes. At which point they usually drive away grandpa slowly. |

Two weeks ago, I got it from a guy in a new Boxster S that felt the need to slowly pull in front of me in a parking lot and then floor it to the exit. Today a douche in a Jag XF-R just had to pull up next to me at a stop light, look over at me and proceed to show me that he could hit 80mph in a 35mph zone.

A Ford Taurus SHO pulled up next to my CLS63 and I didn't think much of it. He took off and I sped up. Before I knew it, I had my foot to the floor until we reached 70 mph. I was really only 1.5 car lengths in front of him and at the next stop light he mentioned that his car was tuned by hennesy. Regardless, I was shocked that he was so close.

I had an older gen Altima trying to race me yesterday. At first I thought it was a Maserati because I saw 3 small side vent grills from his fender creeping up. Turns out they were Autozone stick ok pieces lmao.

I can't tell when people are trying to race me. Some cars require a little more throttle to pass.

I was in jury selection about six years ago for a case involving a street racer who hit and killed a road construction worker (vehicular manslaughter trial). Fortunately I wasn't picked for the jury as I was working 90+ hours weeks at the time (I'm an attorney anyway, low chance of being picked), but sitting in that courtroom for a day and a half was all it took to scare the shit out of me to never race on the street. Seeing the parents of the person who was killed and the severity of it all, I just wave the fools by now who want to race me.
I consider myself extremely lucky that my earlier moronic days didn't end in something tragic. |

About a month ago there was a new vette revving the engine next to me at a light, looking in my rear view I noticed a cop two cars behind him with no roof lights, I could only see the holographic lettering....so I revved a little myself, nosed up....he nosed up, light turns green and he lights them up and takes off, and I go about my business casually, sirens wail and lights flashing ...I have to admit that I felt slightly guilty of setting him up, but in the end I got to where I was going quicker and cheaper then he did, so I win

It's pretty funny b/c these cars look a lot faster than they are. I wouldn't be surrised if some newer minivans can outrun me now |

Since I moved to LA every time I take the M out and I'm just cruising down the freeway minding my own business not doing anything that would draw attention other than driving my car, inevitably a brodozer or two gets offended by my presence and feels the need to tailgate and/or "race" me. I'm not compensating for anything but they CERTAINLY are.

Just the 2003-05 2.5i and the 2006-08 3.0i. The 2003-05 3.0i and 2006-08 3.0si can still hold their own against most regular cars.

Basically a massively lifted, blacked out or fully chromed, trucker girl mud-flapped, smoke stack-havin', coal-rollin' full sized pickup truck driven by an overly aggressive, full sleeve tattooed bro wearing a Tapout t-shirt, Oakley Gas-Can sunglasses and a flat-billed baseball cap worn at a perfect 30 degree angle.
Edit: And before anyone gets offended, individually some of these traits are obviously perfectly acceptable. However, when they all come together they're a perfect storm.
