Another Z4C lookalike: Mazda RF

Not quite as good looking but not bad. I am intrigued. If it had a small v6 in it, I'd be even more intrigued

The targa lifts to swallow the roof panel?!? Very, very weird and complicated looking. Very un-Miata.

I like it! I'm sure the Miata crowd will go nuts with this. They won't have to worry about track restrictions on convertibles anymore!

Wouldn't that depend on the ability of the roof to support the weight of the car in a rollover? Methinks this is lightweight construction very similar to the roof of the current E89 Z4 and wouldn't meet that requirement.

Cool concept though.

I like it! Gotta hand it to Mazda for still making the Miata/MX-5 long after Honda bailed on the S2000 and Toyota bailed on the MR2.
Sure it's underpowered, but it's meant to be just cheap and fun.
As long as it's available with a 6MT. If not, I take it all back.

I was looking hard at the new Mazda MX when I decided to go with the Z4MR, instead. My sons said I made the right choice. The Miatas are fun cars. So light. This looks cool.

I'm not sure which car mfg was first with the new style fangs that are on BMWs, but now I'm seeing them everywhere. They unveiled a Prius today that had them. Honda jumped on the bandwagon, too.

Same here, but I couldn't find one in dealer stock with a 6MT.
I was looking at them on the web and the Wife came in and looked over my shoulder.
I say "All of these are automatic. Who buys a roadster with an automatic?"
She looks at it, scrunches up her face and says: "It's a girl car."

OK, researching other cars. Thanks Hun.

I think it looks good top-up. But to be fair, i'm biased to coupe's. Love the throwback to the 60's GT racers

I wouldn't kick it out of bed... But I'm also partial to fastback 2-seater coupes. And silver. :

It may not offer the same amount of power that we're accustomed to, but if the handling and weight distribution is anything like what Mazda is known to produce, I'm betting it would still be a fun little drive.

I think they are a great car but can't get past the "chick" car image, the Boxter sort of has the same thing going on......like fat chicks and mopeds, fun to ride until your friends see you on them.

I could give a flying fuck about that. Miatas I've driven are a hoot to toss, who cares what others say. But this looks to me like the anti-Miata. All that weight and complexity for what? A button that makes the coupe into a <something>??? Sorry Mazda, this one goes into the "stupid smiley face grilles" bin.

Personally, I think the design is pretty cool. They finally have a coupe for those that have asked over the years, but it also gives the PRHT fans a successor. I just hope the ND gets a Mazdaspeed version...
