I'm sorry to hear about your ordeal, but glad to know you figured it out. It is a bit concerning however that AP would let a rotor leave the factory out of true.

never seen such an issue with ANY of these AP kits over the past decade, the CSL forum over here in the uk must have the most AP kits and the hardest used kits out their and nothing like this from a box fresh kit, but i suppose not everything can be perfect, id hope customer service would be better across the board to be honest.....

HOWEVER.... during a PM conversation it did come to light that the op MAY have some install issues as the caliper needs to be shimmed very specifically to centre over the rotor, this shimmed was not completed or completed correctly, the car was then run with the caliper out of alignment, again not saying this was the issue but i feel it should be highlighted.

i have never had an issue with my ap bbk and i beat on this setup hard in the summer at all day track sessions, I've had the rotors glowing, the rotors turn different colours and still i drive home with a judder free setup.

I took meticulous attention to detail on the install of my kit and it has been perfect from day one.

after a full day of braking from high speed the rotors turned deep dark blue

one of the many ALL day sessions done with my AP bbk.

WHATEVER i say, the op deserved far better customer service than he received and i REALLY hope he is happy with his bbk now,

Also the turning (as opposed to grinding) for such a floating rotor at a 'normal' garage is imho also a disaster waiting to happen (turning a fixed or floating rotor is a completely different thing on a rotorlathe). I'd never let them do that on such expensive and new condition disks.

But the biggest problem was obviously the aftersales. A brand with such a name/pedigree as AP should just swap the rotors no quenstions asked. A satisfied customer is everything in this small tuningworld&time of interwebs 'n forums......
And I mean its a wear product, limited life.... A satisfied customer will be coming back when he needs new disks.....

Also if you have pad deposit or even some rust, that causes shudder, but wears away rather quickly and its something you see. These rotors looked clean&fine.

middle paragraph is on the money for me, i don't care who problem this was AP should have handled this in a very different way IMO.... so for that OP, i really hope your experience is better from now.

Thanks guys for the best wishes. I forgot to quote the rotor specialist regarding the runout:

Quote:
at the outside diameter you had .010 run out but in the middle where I couldn't get a good indication it was worse. But now nice and square and flat and running within .0005
Thanks again for your business.
That's really bad for pad deposits even (like GuidoK says) so I'm still convinced it came from the factory with a runout problem. And a couple thousand miles caused a big high spot. I suppose I could have argued with AP after I got this professional reading but it was already in his hands. Resurfacing only cost $45/disc. The shipping was more expensive.
