UUC Mounts Worth It!

Just installed UUC Transmission Mounts, option 1 w/o the enforcers. From what I've read, the option 2 / red mounts actually cause increased vibration which is not what I wanted. I'd say if your car is mostly street with occasional track or autocross, definitely go with black. You can't tell it's there but shifts are much more precise! In fact, when I shifted to 5th, the throw was so quick I thought I might've misshifted to 3rd but sure enough, it was in 5th. I was concerned of the potential additional notchiness but it's barely noticeable. If anything the notchiness is almost a good thing b/c the shifts are so accurate.

UUC Mount + ZHP knob + CDV = perfect shifts without $$$ of SSK

I feel the same way. Had the black mounts(no enforcing cups) put in a week ago. They do seem to make shifting easier(smoother). I notice a bit of vibration from a start, but it is not a problem. The benefits outweigh the debits IMO.

the shifts on the M are short enough, just needs mods to make it less rubbery and more precise

Agree with all above, the shifts have "lightened" up a bit. I've also noticed that snicking into 1st is also a breeze. I have the Rogue mounts, but I think the UuC black and RE are both neoprene composite material; I don't notice any added NVH, definitely a worthy and minimal investment.

Just received mine. I'll be putting them on in another couple of weeks along with the synchromax trans fluid and the stainless brake lines I just ordered.

I think this one goes on the "must have" mod list from the positive feedback we're seeing. (Black neoprene version....)

We've got ours, just haven't had time to get them installed. Hopefully this week!

That is exactly what these mounts do. Much less rubbery now. You should give them a try. For $35, not much to lose.

Any one gotten the enforcer cups? Curious if that puts the ride quality between option 1 (without enforcer cups) and option 2 (red ones).

I had same concerns but always read how option 1 w/o TME was great for just daily driving. I know if you do the install correctly, the TMEs should not cause increased vibration but it must be more finicky b/c I read others who experienced more noise/vibration so I played it safe and went without.

RE's will go on next week along with Royal Purple - The car has always had problems under braking load, even with rev matching getting from third to second at our local track.

I had the black mount and enforcer cups in my E46 330i, the tranny sound and vibration was very noticeable. I need to take the cup out.

Got the same setting in my Z4MC, the different (sound / vibration) with or without the enforcer cups is not big. Put I feel the shifting is more sharp with the cup.

FYI, I am also using the UUC RK2 knob in my Z4MC.

Just ordered the black UUC mounts (no cups) last night. How long did it take you guys to get yours? I'm going to have to get under the car to replace the under-engine cover so I'm hoping to just install these mounts while I'm at it.

I got the mounts two week ago, they took a week to get to me. Under-engine cover broken?

I read that you should only torque to 19 lb/ft. Over-torquing will result in more vibration.

Could also be the increased surface area of the TME is transmitting much more into the chassis. I would be curious to know if the vibration from the neoprene + TME > UUC urethane no TME ... so far, the RE neoprene have been flawless, I notice nothing but precise shifts.

Cool. Actually, just got a shipping notification from them so hopefully it'll arrive by this weekend. I'm in their "3 day" shipping range.

Previous owner must have run over something because the passenger side of the plastic cover under the engine has a hole from some sort of abrasion. That along with some damage to the passenger side brake duct were the only things the PPI uncovered a couple of months ago, so I've been meaning to fix it. None of this was visible, but I'm trying to get the car as perfect as I can.

I have the uuc with the cups, no real difference in vibration or noise over stock.
