Question 1st Post, have performance question.

Hello. First! ( trolling myself).

I have a question for all you fine people.

My wife has a stock 2004 2.5i automatic z4

She wants added performance, but she's not exactly going to be hitting the streets at night racing for pinks. lol.

I've read a few posts about improving gearing and stuff... and while I know what that means, I don't know like where to get that stuff and where to bring it to be installed and stuff like that.

Any and all thoughts on how to make her car a little more beefy in the engine would be greatly appreciated.

She may be happier with the perception of performance through aural means versus actual test numbers. Try installing a sound generator with the foam removed, aFe intake, or aftermarket exhaust. They will make the car sound like a performance car without dipping into retirement money.

True performance is expensive and requires a knowledgable owner capable of troubleshooting. If you don't have time or money to throw at the car, the better option would be to buy a faster car. There are ways to make a 2.5i quick, but it's not cheap or trouble-free.

This is not performance information, but I thought you would enjoy this review of a 2003 2.5i:

Cheers!

When I inquired about boosting the HP on my M Roadster I was told there were two basic options. One, buy a chip that would boost HP by something like 10 or 15 HP, at a cost of maybe $700 or so. Or install a supercharger, which would add 150 HP or so, at a cost of $10k. I decided to stick to the stock set up.

A chip for 10-15hp?? Where?? :-)

You could add a few M badges, they are good for 1.5hp each :-)
