New owner actually is a forum member!! And from what I can tell he will be taking excellent care of it! Can't wait for him to take delivery and post up some photos and first impressions.

OK so here's the new ride. Don't laugh! And no, I'm not joking.
It's a 1995 Honda del Sol VTEC (that's the factory 160hp B16 engine). Pretty much mint condition, drives great. It's nearly identical to my first car I had when I was 16 so it's very nostalgic for me. It was super cheap so I just plan to drive it for a bit and then keep my eye out for maybe an S2000 or a 3.0i Z4. As my friend so aptly put it, "You'll have nothing to lose and only money to gain." I'm so excited, I love it so much! The feeling of just going and giving someone money and having a title in hand is amazing. I've never actually owned a car before!

Congrats on the new car – there's a lot to be said about owning it outright!
Plus you won't have to worry about where you park and it's cheap to maintain… my DD is a Civic with 150k on the clock.

Having the title in hand is a wonderful feeling! I like the plan, it's smart.
It's a roadster, which you wanted, and which is perfect. You'll be able to enjoy that. Plus it replaces your first car, which sadly didn't live long, and you'll get to enjoy this one and have fun with it! Isn't that the B16a engine, with 8K redline, and the larger front sway and rear anti-sway bars? Like the wheels btw. I sold my 95 Integra GSR last year, and I still miss that car. It was light, had a very willing to rev engine, and was pretty bulletproof for the 175K miles I had it (just remember to change the timing belt every 60-70K miles). I enjoyed jumping in it and driving it, even during the period when I had a Z4M and an E92 M3 around. It was actually a car you could actually enjoy driving, which is a huge contrast to so many newer "better" cars on the road today. The Del Sol is a step up from my GSR, given with the open top and other fun factors, so I'm far from underwhelmed with this choice. It marks off a lot of check boxes for you Nikki. So, enjoy, and enjoy the thought of building up savings, and not having a car payment each month. Having a good cash reserve is also a very wonderful feeling to have! |

Yep, 8200 redline and factory strut/sway bars. I had upgraded ones on my old one so maybe I'll add those along with some new pads and rotors and I'll be set. It also has an upgraded stereo with ipod, aux and sirius radio so that's good to go, may add a sub in the trunk though, we'll see. Just little things, and it's sooo cheap to mod/maintain this car. I can get a full upgraded set of rotors and pads for $200!

Congratulations on the new car!
That car looks like a ton of fun to drive, convertible too! No more worrying about where you park it, not a huge deal if you get dinged, easy to fix, cheap parts, no more worrying about the fangs, etc. etc. And the best part is that you own it outright, no more payments making your life difficult.

That Del Sol looks like it is mint! Congrats on the purchase.
I am sure the M will be missed, but your wallet will thank you when it comes time for repairs/gas on the Honda instead of the BMW. Enjoy the new ride. |

I love the Del Sols. Looks like you found one in great shape. Those cars have tons of aftermarket potential. I think a set of Mugen M7s with suspension would be perfect.

Nikki,
Congratulations! Your new car was the subject of conversation while we walked the dog tonight. The consensus was that you made a wise decision and will have a great time with the Del Sol! My only worry (and Finnegan can verify this), was that you wouldn't be here any more. I'm glad that Huz conferred "honors and benefits" upon you all official and stuff (and I only had a tiny geekgasm when he posted "So say we all.") Anyway, this is great news. I know I'm not in here much, but Finnegan keeps me in the loop and I ask about you all the time. [I also stalk ... err, I mean keep up with Ship, Roffle, Huz, Mousitch and a few others that way.]

ugh. i can't believe i missed this; just stumbled on this forum. i have been looking for a SBM z4m coupe since last May.
best of luck to the new owner! i'm jelly!!! the del sol is very fun to drive, even the base version with the 1.5 is a blast, though sols are suprisingly hefty. and the del sol vtecs in good condition will always command a bit of a premium. nice choice. just make sure to keep that paint protected from the sun with a nice sealant, wax or coating - that black likes to cause clear coat failure ; ) i'll see you at honda-tech!
