That's the Carbon Coupe from TC Kline. Had lined up to drive it for a feature I was going to write but fell through, last I heard he was trying to sell it for about $80K.
Google TC Kline Carbon Coupe and you'll find plenty of images.

The body kit goes for a more reasonable $21k. Saves quite a bit of weight
someday I will buy it.. like 10 years from now

the wheel/fender gaps are ghastly on that one, the front bumper is too aggressive for the street, and we don't know if its as light

haha jk. It's too over the top for me as well. But I do like the concept of widebody. Just have never seen a good looking kit, and especially one that's affordable |

we don't really NEED a widebody. You only need an inch or 2 in fender mods to run 305mm in the back. I'd like 335 ideally, but the tire choice is VERY VERY limited in 335/30/18

The Studies kit is a replica of the BMW MZ4 Coupe Motorsports chassis without the Motorsports bits.

yeah I know. I've also seen version where the fender gap looks smaller because of a modified fender, but it still looks very off. I know its a racecar, but it doesn't really need those gaping holes does it? How's this for a widebody stance?

The slats are for aero and cooling. I wouldn't mind a widebody kit to differentiate from the rest of the Z4 pack, but like I said, there are no good kits out yet. Once one comes out, I'll wait for it to become more affordable

they could make it out of lead and i would still love it. Its just soo beautiful to me. The real one or the Studie replica are both beautiful. It really as you said, need some think side walled race slicks and wheels to fill in the wells.

I bet you can save a fuckton of weight replacing the doors and trunk with dry something something carbon fiber. I KNOW those are heavy pieces.

If everyone would be on the look-out for used quarter panels, fenders and a M-hood....I will begin a plug mock-up. Serious. I would take damaged parts, but would MUCH rather start my time on the design, rather than body-work. So...be on the look-out on your local Pick-n-pulls and Craigslist etc. and contact me. -(Please). |
