One night, after a lovely Thai dinner with the ole lady, we were driving the M coupe VIN 5UMDU934X6LL93341 back when it hit me, Thai food and I simply do not agree. Five miles from the house, my bowels failed me and I took a dump in your moms fish tank.

Let's put it this way; IF someone buys the car without researching it and uncovering the details....he/she is going to have a very, very immediate sick feeling once they sign up on the forum. I think if that happens, we should start a hard liquor PayPal fund for the sorry bastard.

Wow, I love the power of the internet combined with a good community. That way, things like VIN:5UMDU934X6LL93341 are less likely to cause someone to get ripped off.

VIN:5UMDU934X6LL93341

Whoops, sorry, hit CTRL+V on accident again.

Yes, we did try! Hopefully they were aware, and used that information to get a reasonable price. Nothing wrong with it at the right price IMO. However, if they paid asking or close, ouch.

Same group has an S54 Z3 Moupe for $43k - WHAT? I understand it has 17k miles, but really? Well here's to hoping that 1. It sells for that, and 2. Our Z4's experience the same appreciation.

Enthusiast auto is a member of the coupe cartel. I just didn't know they were so dishonest, guess that's what happens when you're dealing with a cartel member.

EDIT: I jumped to conclusions, he seems very honest given his reaction to emails pointing out the car history.

Phuc
It pangs me to see dealer trade-in offers. It always feels so damned insulting.

My only advice is to try your best to control the excitement hormone and if you can keep trying to sell that car outright. I just did a quick search on Autotrader for '07 335's (within 500 miles of me) and it returned average price of $25k and high price of $39k. Maybe just try listing it on some of the various BMW sites for $22k. You never know, there may be someone out there ready to jump on it and you'd be $3k ahead. That's what I did with my '05 ZHP. It sold 2 days after I listed on ZHPMafia, and I came out $5000 ahead of what the dealer was going to give me.

Just my .02,
Rus

Ouch, that's just pathetic. Wonder when they gonna start selling it as a Premium Selection.

I just sent the following message to them:

You have a listing for a Z4MC vin# 5UMDU934X6LL93341. In the description it says "no accidents and never Raced, Tracked or Abused". It is well known on the BMW forums this car was used at BMW's racing school and had damage repaired before being released to the public. There is a lot of info in this thread: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=625998 should you care to find out more about it's history. Just don't want folks being misled.

I think they removed the "never raced, tracked or abused".

Cliffhopper, LOL.

This car sure makes the rounds. I think this is the forth or fifth place that's had it for sale.

No accidents. See how it's worded: "Clean Vehicle History Report with No Accidents". That means the vehicle history report is clean and shows no accidents, not that the car wasn't in an accident. That way they can claim "but we ran a history report and it was clear of accidents".

Chickdr, good work in getting things cleaned up on the listing--at least it's better than it was. A look at the M listings shows the car as "Pricing To Be Set Upon Arrival & Comprehensive Pre-Purchase Inspection". We need to keep an eye on this one--I wonder what will come back after that "comprehensive inspection"?

I really hope whoever is thinking of buying this car searches VIN 5UMDU934X6LL93341 and finds this thread. There's a lot of information here on 5UMDU934X6LL93341 that they really need to know and what a hard life its lived.

I actually received a reasonable response from them very quickly:

I appreciate the heads up. We will adjust the add and look into the history
further and disclose this to the next owner. We were obviously unaware of
this prior to our purchase and contact BMW to verify if it was a M-School
car.

Hope fully they will do what he said they would.

That is very encouraging and very reasonable! With the message about the PPI and so forth, let's hope there's a positive end to this story.

I received another e-mail from them today:

Tom,

Thank you very much for the note last night. That is very helpful. We
hadn't yet ran the DCS report. I'm glad people out there are looking out
for us, it is greatly appreciated!

Drop me a line if we can ever be of service to you.

Thank you and have a great weekend,

Wow. I'm surprised, pleasantly surprised, but surprised nevertheless.

IDK what the final outcome will be, but based on the direction the communication is going this outfit may not be a bad place to look if you're in the market for a Z4 or Z4M. They have several (Asking prices may be a bit on the steep side, but there's always negotiation. Integrity is an important consideration as well.)

There are some interesting cars there too. An 02 Z3MC with 19K miles. Or the Z8 with under 500 miles? (Holy garage queen!) There are two E30 M3s with under 75K miles too. I really need to stop looking.

Neat shop! I have spoken to Eric at length when I was looking at M3s.

I feel they are an honest shop. This situation will be very telling.
