Z4M Winter Story
It was a rainy day, a very rainy day. As was the day before. A scouring rain that washed away all the salty danger off his beaten path. Could it be clear? Might this be a tiny window of freedom in a long melancholy winter?
He knew it was. Straight away after work tailgating all the white walkers to the storage garage. A single golden key in the lock clicks and the black beasts chains fall away. Cigarette lighter clicks and the whirr of a small pump, the sound of hissing air that makes the tiny sidewalls just a little less tiny. Then the mighty dragon roars to life and stalks out of her cave for an unexpected flight during scheduled hibernation. Better than he even remembers is the roar of combustion and the thick heavy wheel in his hands. Planted and confident she soars for a brief time and then circles back to the safe retreat of the cave. The water is getting close to freezing again and the salt will return, but today she flew. |

It's been well above freezing and raining here for a couple of days, if the sun comes out so will the toy......I am chomping at the bit for spring but an afternoon drive would be good about now.

Jealous- would have liked to have done the same to my black beast ! Pulled the insurance for the winter and although it was 16c here it was raining buckets. Inspiration for the coming spring LOL.

I had mine out twice so far this winter, in similar conditions -- extended rain that cleared the salt away, followed by a sunny day. Thanks for sharing.

Nice read! Those "scouring rains" thankfully worked their magic here too in Pennsylvania...allowing that winter drive.

I'm in Seattle and it rains on occasion....I repurposed (aka retired) mid-last yr and now I can clean up the Red Roadster in the winter and then choose drive times when the rain subsides.

First thing I thought was, "I've never seen this car in Atlanta!" (we get really rainy winters here)
Great story though! And a really great shot too- the lighting shows off the 86's rear haunches in a very complimentary way. |

I took it out again for a little bit but now it's pretty salty even though it's warm. Come on rain!

We have salt everywhere here too, and more snow on the way which means they'll slather more around. Yay.
I may need a fun-to-drive winter beater. |

How much does it cost you to rent storage space big enough for the Z4 over the winter?? With the storage prices here in Toronto being so high you're almost better off to just buy a bigger house with more garage in the burbs and/or acquire lifts for added garage space.
