Depends on what you're looking for.
Small wheels are for performance, big wheels are for bling.
IMHO, 18" for performance, 20" for bling, 19" if you want a compromise.

You mean Mr Medium. When you can't decide , you order a medium. Indecisiveness.

20s would look aweful on a Z4m. 19" for bling, 18" for performance. 20" shouldnt even be an option.

19s are perfect for our Z on (hopefully smooth) streets. Thanks for the pix comparing Morr to HRE After seeing both side by side, I still can't decide which one I like more

the only reason i dont like the p40's as much, is because they are much less concave with smaller pockets, and because there are 3-4 different replicas of them, avante garde being the most popular

19" looks perfect on E86 MCoupe, as Lukasz' car suggests in the multitude of awesome pics he takes.

why do you think 19's are too big? there is still quite a bit of tire on a 19" wheel. i havnt noticed any drawbacks from going up one size from my 18's at all. i actually find the steering is much more precise and it feels more predictable. 20's are too big imo though. not only do you loose alot of sidewall, but they are just aesthetically too big for the dimension of the car. the ferrari italia actually has 20" wheels standard, and the car is fairly small, but they also have a larger sidewall (equivelent to 19" sidewall on the z4m) and larger wheels wells to accomadate.

19s will always be heavier than their 18" counterparts, plus the tires are often heavier too.

for aftermarket yes, but my 19" set weigh less than my stock 18" set. PSS tires are also quite light compared to other 19 tires. i can understand going with a 18" wheel if the car is a dedicated track rat, and there is a surplus of aggressive tires available in 18 vs 19". but for a street/recreation car i prefer 19" sizing.

I'm not comparing stock to aftermarket. I'm saying your wheels in 18" would be lighter. Thats a fact. This is weight you can feel in acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle, especially off the line. No doubt your car looks amazing with the current setup, but if you put on my wheels immediately after driving on yours, you'd feel like the car gained 15hp on the butt dyno

Once again, this is all personal preference. I think 19's LOOK better most of the time
