I have installed this diffuser, its very aggressive, Keep in mind that it will only fit with RPI mufflers. It wont work on stock mufflers, and I am not sure about other cans.

Yea. Everyone who installed mentioned that. Actually the Oem is the fattest one out there, so it requires a lot of trimming. Others will need to be trimmed but not as much.

I actually talked to the guy and he?s checking if he can do 360 shipped for 10+ orders.

I think for all but the RPI mufflers and custom race pipes it'll require trimming. I got it to fit on the OEM muffler with about 1.5 hours worth of cutting and grinding(and removed about 15% of material overall). If you don't have an angle grinder or cutting wheel, get a shop to install it for you. I think when I installed it with the OEM muffler, I spent more time measuring and mocking up than I did cutting and installing. A decent angle grinder with a good cutting wheel will make minced meat out of the aluminum.

You can use the factory plastic diffuser piece as a general guide to measure how much you have to cut. Measure the clearance from exhaust to the factory diffuser, then lay the factory diffuser on top of the FancyWide main diffuser plate, and mark with painter's tape or marker, measure, and cut. The two independent outside fins may require significant trimming, or you can leave them off (but if you do you can't install the two horizontal fins covering the muffler). Right now there's about 1/2" of clearance all around except for a single spot around the tip where it barely touches the muffler.

You will need to remove the two bolts holding down the rear chassis cross brace to bolt the diffuser on, factory spec calls for replacing those bolts (not necessary unless it's been removed a few times before). Torque spec is 59Nm + 90º. You'll never get to the +90º, because even at 59Nm it will completely crush the soft aluminum (the bolt is a grade 8.9 steel and designed to stretch, thus the 90º angle torque). So instead of angle torquing it, I used red Loc-Tite and torqued it to 59Nm and left it alone. Doesn't seem to cause any additional rattles.

For those of you with steep driveways or any sort of significant transition from driveway to street, the 4 primary fins on this diffuser sit VERY LOW and extend far behind the rear of the bumper. I've scraped the diffuser more than I have scraped the APR splitter, and the splitter sits VERY low. Avoid speed bumps and dips in the road if you're lowered more than 1/2".

Not to dissuade anyone. It is a very good looking diffuser and easy to install. no modification to the stock hardware required except drilling 4 small holes on the bottom of the bumper, and 1 additional hole on the rear wheel well that's invisible to all behind the rear wheels.

Here ya go.... install with Stromung.

A few things to note;
1. I have R.Eng Xpipe & DKF, my system seems to extend about 3/4" more than OE pipework = less room for me.
2. clearances will depend on mounting height of tips.
I nudged mine up a little tighter to the bumper so that I had more room.
3. When trimming allow room for the exhaust to extend backwards with heat expansion.

Hmm, looks very nice. Thanks for the write up regarding the Stromungs, we have the exact same setup including the black BBQ paint! ;D

However like The HACK said, this looks like it would be a problem for anyone lowered over 1/2". Believe it or not, but even my Ebay diffuser has some knicks on the bottom of it (bumps or road debris, not sure) and it's nowhere near as low as this FW diffuser! I have a bad feeling one big bump and I could have a destroyed diffuser/rear bumper. As well, if I run over anything it could get caught on that diffuser and I'd be dragging it down the road.

As much as I like this, I just don't think I can get away with it.

it would be fairly easy to trim a little off the fins if you find it too low.

so I tried my best to get close to 350 shipped. However they dont want to do that.

They said the best is 390 shipped unfortunately.

Seems like their margin is super low.

I just checked their website and the price is $420 + 50 shipping so total is 470 shipped. Hes doing for $390, which is a good deal.

However, in order for him to sell for that price, he said that we need to combine the 3 items into 1 box.
So the shipment would be 3-3-3-1.

If he has to ship 1 item per box, he said the price is $420.

I will update the names and see how many people we get.
Those still interested, could you leave a comment again?
thanks

and also is not worth a group buy to save from 450 to 420 LOLOL

Not sure where this stands after the ebay listing - but I am still interested. 3GFX and I could probably get ours packed together since we're local to each other.

In excitement I finally dropped myself under the car annnnnnnnd....I can't do it. The exhaust box on the Dinan is quite big compared to the M cars and takes up quite a bit of space toward the centre of the car. I'd be cutting half the diffuser to make it work.

So in essence...and with great dispair....I am out

Damnnn, it would have really tied your car together.

While I would love the $390 tier, I'd still be in at $420 shipped to me.
