Convertible side covers

Anyone have a 3D printer and scanner? We could scan a set to make our own. Customized of course!

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but was curious to know if there's been any follow up since the last message was posted?

Seems like the side covers are now going for $400+ (when you can find them), so any alternatives would certainly be welcomed!

That's insane, they're awesome to have and really clean the car up but that's heavy coin.

In saying this, I have a set of black covers + bag and no longer have my Roadster if anybody is willing to pay that lol

There is one small glimmer of hope - a member of a UK forum is trying to have a friend who is involved in F1 create a mould and make a small production run, with a price goal of approx £100. This is not yet confirmed.

I stupidly didn't scroll through to the end of the thread before posting, so the Tischer comment is redundant. Will have to keep fingers crossed for the UK solution, though I thought I had dibs on Rockstar's???

I have a set but having a NEW set in carbon fiber would be sexy.

I will have to have a look around up here in Toronto Canada and see if there's anyone that could make a mold of them and produce them for a decent price. The only difficulty I see is that key to lock them in. Would need to come up with something for that.

Even if they were made in fiberglass for cheap, that would work. Just as I've been saying regarding the S54 DTM airbox......

The one thing you'd have to be weary of with the carbon/fiberglass copy is that it probably isn't as durable as the OE piece. They're designed in a way that they pop out undamaged if you forget them in and put the top up, and the material is very resistant to scratches and such.

That said, carbon fibre would be so cool lol
