Did valve adjustment today & noticed writing....

On my intake side cam thrust bearing had the mileage 22,711 written on it in marker. I didn't take a pic of it but thought it was odd. Does anyone know why or what the mileage may mean??

Maybe it was the last time shims were done

I thought that too. But isn't 22k kinda early for shims?

It's on the early side but nothing abnormal.
