I guess my point is if you are doing something that involves the belts or pulleys and are in that neighborhood why not replace a75 dollar part that could lead to catastrophic failure. Beedub I think they are good for longer than that , but it depends on use. Its easy to tell if you start losing boost and your belt is noticeably loser this is likely the culprit.

I'm on 101k miles on my original tensioner. No slip, but I'm only doing 6 psi with no track time.

Did you have to get a re-tune after the fuel pump upgrade?

Well, I emailed AJ. He said that I had a boost leak or air intake restrictions. I opened up the area around the air intake ( I made a wall that covered 1 inch of the back half of the filter). I pulled 7.3 psi in 3rd and did a pull on a nearly deserted freeway in 4th and got 9.3psi on peak recall. The car nearly scared the hell out of me. I will fabricate something to increase the air to the filter.

Why would you get 2 psi more running in 4th gear compared to 3rd?

did you pop the limiter on your 4th gear run?? sounds like youy seeing just over 7lbs of boost but a spike caused by hitting the limiter gace you a high peak reading.... i will see well over 10lbs if i hit the limiter and try to gain a peak recall figure.... hence why on boost reading runs ill shift at 7700....

I am positive I didn't hit the limiter.

It makes sense, considering what the filter, slinky toy does before the super charger

It's on the 17th and 18th . Just figured out what my issue was . I had the wrong sized crank pulley and supercharger pulley . The VT525 is supposed to come with a 135mm crank pulley and a 79mm SC pulley . My kit came with a 130mm crank and an 85mm SC pulley . That is why I had belt slip and only 5psi with no leaks , the tensioner was likely an innocent bystander .

This is craziness. I am checking all my pulley sizes tomorrow. Did AJ give you these pulley numbers?

Through Roman yes. It seems their fabricator screwed up and made 130mm pulleys instead of 135mm( measured on rib to rib) not external lip. I'd def check your sizes then give them a call, especially if you are still coming up short on boost.

What's the excuse for the super charger pulley? Are they sending the replacements free of charge?

It says 2360, but now George is making me think I may have the wrong size pulleys.

My belt size is 2334 . They just messed up , and are overnighting me the correct crank pulley as soon as its made (my car is down until then ) . Apparently the 130mm with the 79mm is what the 500 kit used, this the mix up . The first time they sent an 85mm SC pulley so it was way off . I thought my shop messed when they said they had to use a smaller belt, but they didn't . I had just ordered new crank and DC pulleys with a new belt at my own cost bc I wasn't sure and then got the correct SC pulley but the incorrect crank pulley , with the correct belt . So again it didn't fit ( very loose) . When I called ESS and measured everything they figured out the last batch of 135mm pulleys was really 130mm . (They have no correct 135mm in house currently so if you recently got a kit it is likely wrong)
So frustrated right now. They are obviously refunding me the cost of the new belt and pulleys I ordered with shipping .
George.
