Apex EC-7 on AW Z4 MC

Just wanted to share some pics of the Apex EC-7 wheels in Anthracite. I am very happy with the quality and the wheels are actually much nicer in person than in pictures. I would love to lower the car, but the angle of my driveway just won't allow it. Either way, I love the change from stock.
Wheel sizes are 18x8.5" ET35 and 18x9.5" ET22 and went with Michelin Pilot Super Sports 235/40/18 and 265/35/18. One neat touch was getting the gunmetal valve springs 43mm from Bavarianx.com. They really match nicely with the Anthracite wheels and are much better than going with silver valve stems.

Love the EC-7s, I just wish you could get a front rim that was more concave than the "Concave Profile 1"

Even if you go with 9" fronts and 10" rears you still have the same concave profiles as these.

Looking good! They really are nice wheels aren't they? And I'm loving the PSS's as well. Similar set up on mine, except I went with 10" rears on 275's

Thanks. Yes, they are really nice and I am very happy wtih the PSS as well. Surprising how quiet they are, but coming from the OEM Conti's it is not surprising. Any pics of car?

I love them! Have a set sitting in the garage for when I find my perfect M Coupe.

I would have liked the Profile 2 as well, but the Profile 1 is better than I expected. I actually like them in combination with the Profile 3 of the rears. Since I am on stock suspension, they are pushed pretty close to the edge.

It is very possible to fit profile 2 EC-7s on a Z4 M as long as negative camber (camber plates) and a suspension that can properly clear the wheel and tire are introduced into the equation. It is important that the lower spring perch remain above the tire. If the spring or perch is next to the tire, then a thick spacer may be required for clearance which makes the fitment far too aggressive. A 5mm spacer would be acceptable, but anything thicker would push the setup too far out. The stock strut’s integrated lower spring perch can clear the 265 setup, so a simple lowering spring and camber plate install can make for a very ideal track setup on the Z4 M. Many coilovers use long springs, helper/tender springs, or cone shaped springs. These may have to be replaced with a single shorter spring usually 6-5″ in length to guarantee that the perch remains above the tire.

On this car we used an 18x9.5" ET43 (Profile 2) with a 12mm spacer and a 265/35/18 tire. This made the wheel effectively an 18x9.5" ET31. As long as you have about -2 degrees camber an 18x9" ET31 could also be used in the front with a 245/40/18 tire.

An 18x9.5" ET35 can also be used without a spacer in the front with a 265/35/18 tire and -2.5 to -3 degrees negative camber. Like below:

So the 18x9" ET31 should fit ok with about -2 camber and a 245/40 tire even without a spacer correct ?

A 245/40/18 tire is too tall to fit in the front of your Z4 unless you have much more than -2 degrees of camber. If you are looking to use a 245 width tire and have -2 degrees and do not have the ability to obtain more negative camber than a 245/35/18 tire is the only option.
